    Afternoon all,

I've had my dreadlocks about 5-6 months and i've been wondering about getting a tidy up but I wasn't sure if any of you guys had experience with them. I've heard good and bad, but i wouldn't wanna go pay an arm and a leg and just geting turned into a glorified human candle!

If it's not worth going are crotcheting hooks any good? I've got a few dreads that have had alot of hair come away from the main dread. Just having a bad dreadlock day today i think, getting frustrated with them :)

    Ta,
    Mal

thats the best way ive ever seen it put, exactly right. but crochet hooks owrk wonders if you have experience....i tried it and kinda tore a dread up, my momma (who has crafting experience) got all of the loose hairs that i wanted gone. and yes they can be very frustrating if you want them to look nice, a few months ago i kept getting super pissed cause they werent perfect, then i was all what he hell, so i combed out some parts to make them look very natural and i love them so much more and i have barely touched them since (except for my end tapering adventure)

yeah screw the salon why would youwant that anyways?

Just leave them be and be happy. All they are going to do is wax the hell out of your hair and call it done.

Just needed a tidy because i had some job interviews, but hell with it, i'll just tie them back. Just have days where i get frustrated with em.. feel much better about them now though.

I agree with soaringeagle. Be patient.

Why would you want to pay somebody to do what nature's doing anyway? The whole idea of lockticians seems silly to me.

Wow.........it amazes me that their is such a thing as a "dreadlock salon" .....isn't that an oxymoron?

People will do anything to make money, including fucking up your hair.
