I've been enjoying my double-chambered-water-bong for a while now. The hits on it are just so awesome it's unbelieveable. The weird thing is, every time I show it to someone, they always seem completely confused by it. I always thought that it was sort of a self-explanitory thing, but in case it's not, I wrote out this guide to help anyone else build one of these. I've hit well-built acryllyc bongs before that didn't even meaure up to this. I think you'll all enjoy it.

Well, the method I’ve used to make mine seems to have worked extraordinarily well. My friends and I have got the biggest rips off this bong we’ve ever experienced in our lives. There’s tree ways you can hit the bong if you build it using this method. You can either hit it like a traditional double-chambered-water-bong, or you can have your friend unscrew the bowl cap on the chamber that contains the smoke first and have him or her power-hit it to you. There’s also a third method you could use, but if you opt to do this you’re going to need two people to operate it or a plug of some sort. Let’s get on to the material list, though.

    Things Needed For Construction:
    – Bowl Piece: Preferable with threads, but as long as you can place it into the cap of one of the bottles, you’re okay.
    – Two Gatorade Bottles: Be sure to keep the caps for them
    – Duct Tape
    – Two Bic Pens, or one Bic pen and something with equal diameter to poke holes
    – Lighter to heat plastic
    Optional:
    – Blue Tac, Chewing Gum or glue of any sort to help seal leaks that might occur.

    Procedure:

Okay, you have all the materials you need for construction. The first thing you should do is work your bowl piece into one of the caps. Some people like to slightly burn the cap to soften the plastic, and then shove something through. My friend and I melted the plastic slightly, made an indentation with a bic pen, and then screwed our threaded bowl piece. After it had hardened, we unscrewed the bowl piece, and we punched out another hole. This made it pretty air-tight. There’s many methods to do this, but we found this one was the simplist and most air-tight method.

Now that you have your bowl piece it’s time to prep the bottles. Select the bottle you want to hit through, and heat the side of the bottle at the point where you want your water level to be. Where the hole is on this bong doesn’t matter that much, but getting the two chambers to wrap around the same stem air-tightly is what you’re trying to do. That said, you want to heat the side of the plastic just to the point where it’s softened. Be very careful not to let it burn too much, or your will be left with a giant hole and a useless bottle. Just work in small measures. Heat it, try to penetrate with your hole-punching tool. While doing this, try to work the stem into an angle that will allow the other chamber to rest firmly against this one. The best way I found to do this is to leave the stem at an extra length, and angle it up slightly higher than a normal water bong would be. Make sure that the plastic is still relatively heated and malleable while angling and inserting the pen, and once you have it where you like it, let the plastic harden in that situation.

By now you should’ve noticed that this is starting to look like a normal water-bong with an elongated stem. That’s what it should look like. The basic concept is that instead of attaching a bowl on to that stem, we attach a whole chamber.

Looking at the diagram we can see that the chamber on the right is where our water will be, and the chamber on the left is our smoke input, container, and cooling chamber.

The operation for inserting the stem into the left chamber is very similar, but the only other step is that instead of angling it upward, angle it downward. Do your best to match the angle you bent it upward so that there’s very little room for air to escape around where the pen is inserted. If you have Blue Tac, Gum, or glue, you can also use that to seal any leaks, but put the stem in the right angles, and under a snug enough fit will generally fix any leakage problems you’ll encounter.

Now you should have a basic double-chambered-water-bong. All you have to do is put the bowl-piece cap onto the other chamber, light, and inhale. But there’s some other things you might want to consider in the construction.

Originally, my friend and I decided that our left chamber would pull in smoke water-fall style. Basically, you poke a hole in the bottom of the bottle, fill it with water, attach the bowl-piece, and then let your finger off the hole and let the water fill the chamber for you. After it’s filled, you inhaled it from the left chamber from the chamber on the right, which at this point will be like just normally hitting water-bong, only no lighting. There’s a problem with this design, though. If you want to put a carb on the right chamber so you can clear it of smoke, then having the hole in the bottom of the left chamber will make it impossible to hit. If you build it to facilitate water-fall style hitting, you will need two people to hit it normally, or a plug to cover the hole.

The operation should be pretty self-explanatory. But a few tips on getting the best hit I have would be to take the cap off the left chamber once you’ve cashed the bowl, but keep your hand on it until you’re ready to hit. This will enable you to get the smoke much faster, and with littler strain on your lungs. You can also have a friend blow onto the hole to get a very effective blow-back.

    The finished product?

In this picture my friend and I have opted to go the normal double-chambered water-bong route, but with some ice in the container chamber.

An okay shot of what the container chamber might look like for you when you have it fully milked.

The water. (The level cuts off about where the tape is. This could give you guys some clue into how much water to use, 'cause even with that much water, and that many chambers, it still tugged pretty easily, and was as smooth as breathing.)

I just thought I'd throw in that picture so you can see how big and thick your hits will be.

I hope you guys like it. If you have any questions I'll answer them here. :)
