But my kitten Pipen loves plastic bags and he just got stuck in one and was running around like a manic kitten it was uber hilarious.
my rat was in a kleenex box and it flipped over. he was stuck inside and he was walking aroung trying to get it off of him. he finally got out. what a cutie.
It may be funny but please make sure you don't leave plastic bags laying around when you're not around because the poor kitten could get tangled up somehow and suffocate to death. You wouldn't find that funny at all. Kitten are known to get into anything and everything. A friend's kitten somehow got itself tangled up with a blind curtain string and was stuck there for hours while my friend was out. It's leg got all swollen up and started smelling so bad that the vet said that the kitten would need its leg amputated or be put to sleep. It would have cost my friend over a thousand dollars to get its leg amputated so she had to put the kitten to sleep. Please be careful is all I'm trying to say.
I agree w/butterflygal; it's a fun toy when you're there but please pick them up when you leave... I'm always careful with bags and anything else the cats could get tangled in; I either make sure they can't reach the handles (put a heavy bag down on top of them, or hang them up high) or when I give them a paper bag to play with (mine prefer paper bags) I cut the handles. Boxes are also lots of fun and are probably safer when unsupervised.. never seen a kitten stuck in a Kleenex box though! I got two plain, regular boxes laying around, one tipped over and one right side up and my cats love them both. It's sure funny how you can spend lots of money on cat toys, cat beds, etc, but when push comes to shove they prefer an old box, a paper bag, a discarded sweater, a film canister to bat around, etc, etc... I think the only 'official' thing among their favorite toys is the fur & catnip mouse, everything else is just small junk... They have a whole bunch of other 'official' toys (because I never learn ;p) and they play with those occasionally but not near as often.
My friends dog died cause it got its head stuck in a Cheeto bag while she was at work. So yeah make sure you dont leave yer little critter unattended.
I agree, it's good fun for them to have unoffical toys, but you have to keep them safe. It's like having small furry toddlers. Our rabbits don't really care for getting inside things, but do have some bizzare toys. They love screwed up paper, especially glossy magazine paper.
My cats love playing with bags too- but make sure you supervise them, because, well.... "this bag is not a toy". you know. Also, I have a cat named Pippin too.

i think hiro realises that it's dumb and bad to let your pet play with bags, that's why its called "dont be mad!", she was just saying that she thought it was cute. my cat likes to smell plastic bags, but whenever she tries to lick them i take them away, but she RARELY tries that, so im not worried. i try to not leave them on my floor. she NEVER chews on them
My cat licked some kind of "washing the dishes" soap on an old bootle in the kitchen, and was having bubbles coming out his mouth for a couple of hours! It's not something I'm proud of, but he was not harmed. Strangely he liked the taste, because he tried to do it again...
