I have a new obsession with dollar stores. I never did before but lately I've been going into them every other day and I just LOVE walking around them seeing all the cheap stuff I can get.... candles, incense (that actually smells good), cleaning stuff, shampoos, cat stuff, socks...... the list could go on and on.

I think that part of the attraction of the dollar stores is that 'everything's only a dollar' so you're not gonna spend much money when you go into them-when in fact, if you start piling things into the basket, you can really spend a lot by the time you leave!

But I have to admit that I'm kind of fascinated by them, too. I was just in one today-I go in there to buy certain things that I won't but anywhere else. I've always wondered how they can make a profit off of some of the things they sell in there. The variety of products in some of the larger stores is really big. Maybe they make their profit off of sheer volume of sales....

I think that some of the things the dollar stores sell are actually things that have imperfections that can't be sold in other stores, but are still basically sellable. Anyway, I'm kind of fascinated by them, too, but my pocketbook won't allow me to get too carried away when I go inside one...

Yeah... you can easily spend a lot more money in them then you intended to or expected to. I usually give myself a certain amount that I can spend... say five, or ten or twenty or thirty dollars and that is what I spend... I dunno, it's kinda fun to me but I'm a dork. :D

Everytime I go into a dollar store I end up buying a bunch of bubble liquid and plastic bubble blowing stuff.

    Then I blow smoke bubbles!

(You inhale smoke, and then blow a bubble with the smoke, and the smoke gets trapped in it... and then you pop it and a cloud of smoke appears)

Dollar stores and thrift stores are always fun. You never know what you're going to find there.

everything i ever had growing up was from the 99cent stores. clothes, school stuff, food, it used to humiliate me. and its funny because my dad still buys everyones christmas presents from the 99 cents store and its kind of a pointless thing to do.

Me too, i absolutely love them! Both dollar and thrift stores are where i get most of my things from, and fabric stores or course.

    Those are just the best.

Today I went to '99only' for work I was trying to find 50 hot pink gift bags and I couldn't find them. When I walked out there store the guy getting signitures on his petition made a comment about how I didn't get anything. I told him I was going to find a better deal at the 'nothing over 98cents store' across the street. I don't think he got it, but I amused myself.
