Hmmm some pretty uptight friends of mine have been trying to convince me not to do shrooms. I have done the research and i think that i am ready to take them, and i feel comfortable with the effects... etc. So the other day my friend was saying that she knows people that have jumped out of buildings while tripping shrooms, saying they think they can fly, or putting a knife in their mouth thinking its a banana. I have never heard of shit like this except maybe on PCP. Is this bullshit or do you seriously have thoughts like that? Is it ok to trip your first time without a sitter?
If its your first time I say split an 8 with a good friend, and I can garuntee you, you won't think you can fly or try eating a banana knife. Hell, I dont really like eating at all when I'm tripping. I wouldn't want to trip alone, 'specialy your first time, more to have companionship on the journey than to be safe.
I've heard such horror stories about acid but not shrooms, shrooms are relatively safe if you have no history of mental illness etc. Also, it's a good idea to have someone else (preferably an experienced psychonaut) there with you when you trip your first time to help guide you and make the best of your trip. Just relax man, and be confident in your knowledge of the drug you're about to take.
even on pcp man this dont happen hehe...a dealer i knew would always be drenshed in it and could operate his vehicule, which is somewhat surprising though as distances become very hazy if you are not psychotic or sometn already it wont do this the jumping off building or thinking that a knife is a banana you really have to not have a clue on what tripping is like to think delusions like this happen to anyone
Oh come on!It`s normal to do crazy stuff while tripping on shrooms, thats the whole idea, but putting a knife in their mouth and shit like that...well i never heard something like that before. And from my expirience with shrooms, nothing like this happend and i really dont think it`s possible
A lot of those things might be true, but are mainly just overhyped bad press. I think psychedelic drugs are safer than just about anything. Just dont be a jackass. It's funny how our drug education in schools focuses on the strangest aspects of the actual drugs. Everyone has heard the story about "LSD will make you think you are a bird and jump off buildings." Another thing is how they focus on the hallucinogenic properties of the drugs. Sure they can make you hallucinate, but it's not the most interesting or potentially valuable aspect of it. I guess drug education is supposed to scare you (it always intrigued me). I would read up on them as much as possible beforehand. Maybe some Carlos Castaneda. I always liked how Don Juan was pretty responsible about how he went about using/serving his drugs.
hahahaha, so true... I think the isolated incidents where people do shit like cut off their own penises, and jump in front of trains thinking they can stop them, are probably from underlying mental issues irrelevant to drug use...in other words, they probably shouldn't be taking these substances to begin with. Their everyday egos probably exude grandiosity , even while sober.
I once ate a glass bottle, cut off my penis (it grows back), jumped in front of a train, and filmed myself banging an orangutan during an LSD trip. bang bang, orangutan. Everybody knows somebody who thought they could fly or they know the orange juice kid, whatever, people like to lie and they even get defensive about their lies. It's kinda creepy. Those people shouldn't take drugs because they have underlying mental problems.
oh yeah... I forgot about the guy who tripped so hard, he now thinks he's a bottle of OJ. he's permafried I don't have to cut off my penis, it's detachable.
I got mine after a freak occurance (buzzard came down and snatched my original one while I was tripping, so I got a prosthetic one..plastic surgery) you may want to ask John Hall from the band 'King Missile'.
word up to that, they are just trying to scary people but if you use the drug to truely find somthing in your self nothing can go rong
stupid people are stupid before they do drugs, so the drug is not to blame. I agree. I may see/feel something cool, but I'm not going to go crazy about it.
Most i've done on shrooms is believe that I was communicating with an animal not a dangerous substance
Thinking a knife is a banana? Scary! It seems when I experience mushrooms I become more aware of how fragile my "organism" is. I can feel every cell and I am completely connected with them. So in a sense I am more aware, and careful with my physical body then normal. For example I will be tripping and I will feel how I have neglected my muscles when it comes to stretching and improving their circulation. I can FEEL the very fibers speaking to me, and wanting to be stretched in a certain manner. So I will have a deep nuturing mushroom stretch and really honor my organism.
