I'm bored, I'm sexually frustrated. I've spent most of my day right here. I want to cry.
I miss him. More than I thought possible. It's his first year on this job. He's low man on the totem pole right now. Really long hours, & the poor guy has been working every Sunday for over a month. :(
It really sucks for him too. I just wanted to grumble about it. Anyone else in this situation?

No significant other here, but I can imagine its hard. Most women I've dated have had major issues with the amount of hours I work. I'd say at my current job, I average about 55 hours a week, but there are certainly weeks where my time commitment exceeds 70. Its just part of the gig managing restaurants or banquet facilities.

that's too bad. my girlfriend is actually at work right now, hopefully i'll get to see her a little later tonight. i dont see her very much because she is always so busy with sorority stuff, work, and school and i don't currently have a job because i am going to school, so i have a lot of free time. its definately frustrating not being able to see the person you care most about, for sure.

Yea I know what you mean. My ex was always busy with campus organizations and crap, and then when she was done with that, she had to do homework. It always made me pretty upset that I couldn't see her as often as I wanted. However...I'm glad thats over with [IMG] haha

well, he's currently not working, but... he has lots of things that he's chosen to be involved in that are time consuming. I also have a very peculiar schedule, it can make it hard for us to meet up, especially since he's leaving in just a few days for a week, and last time I saw him I was so nauseaus I could barely do more than peck him :( :( :(

He's still sleeping now. I'm going to try to let him get as much rest as possible. *grouphugs*
Thanks for sharing folks. :) I hope we can all find the time to enjoy the best people in our lives.
ihmurria, that stinks. :( I hope your next together time goes better for you two.

): if you're that upset about it imagine how upset and tired he must be since he is the one working those long hours ;)
It's never bothered me. I like guys with a lot of ambition and I need my time alone, especially if I'm living with somone and I work a lot too and go to school and have been bitched at for it a lot in the past. So if I'm with somone who works a lot too then they have no ground to stand on when I can't do something or am tired from doing so much. I also have a hard time saying no to things and admitting that I am tired; ie-sex or going out and if somone else is in the same situation I am in they can usually recognize when I have hit my end and am ready to crash and take care of me and vice-versa.
I think compatibility career wise and schedule wise is really important because it's hard to empathize with somone when you don't have to work as much or don't have the same career goals. Perhaps you could be more understanding or find something time-consuming that you are passionate about. You'll feel fulfilled and he'll be more interested because you'll be more interesting.

Thanks, but I'd thought of that. That's why I provide him with dinners, lunches, movies on the weekend...ect.
So, I'm not understanding. He's sitting right here, I just asked him how understanding I am about the fact that he works a lot. He seems to think I am. Because it depresses me, & I worry about him.
    But, um, thanks.
He's not interested in me....? Yeah, well he says that he is. So I guess we're ok.
Hey uh, lynsey. I'm going to try and go away thinking you aren't trying to be a condescending...person.

I wrote the stuff about him being low man on totem pole at work right now because the only reason he's working every Sunday is that it's his first year on this new job.
I wrote the part about how it really sucks for him too, because I wanted it to be clear that he actually wants to be home more than he is able to be right now.
I guess it's not clear enough.

OH MY GOD, yes. She is working 40-60 hours a week, interning an additional 16 hours a week and spends one day out of town at school where she is trying to get her masters. So, when she IS actually home she is usually doing homework.

I feel ya. It sucks. I get very lonely. But, I keep telling myself, just 2 more years of this and then maybe we'll be back to normal.

We do go out of our way to find time together though and on occasion we talk to each other via email and PMs during work. We also try to eat lunch together every day. It's hard. But knowing that eventually it will ease up and that your man will be better for going through this, that helps. Just hang in there. I try to be supportive too, even though it hurts not having her around sometimes. Just know that he is doing this to help make a good life for you both. Eventually you'll get more time together.

Wow, that's rough. I imagine much tougher with a family.
Thanks, Hacker, he is definetly doing the best he can for us. I tell him I'm proud of him.
Yeah, we let each other get our work stress out verbally. I'm with ya on that. He makes my life better just being on the planet. ;)
So, is that actually your family? I laughed pretty hard when I saw the caption the first time. Good lookin crew you've got there! :D

OH LORD, no. Just a pic I found randomly on the net. I thought it was funny stuff so I put it in my sig. I REALLY have no idea who these people are.

We actually don't have kids. We are both in my gallery pics though.

    :)

): I'm sorry reread that and it did sound very rude. i didn't intend it that way and it wasn't even directed at you. I have just gotten so much shit in relationships for being 'too busy' and I felt very controlled and hated it. I let my past experiences totally fuel that post. It had nothing to do with you. You sound like a great girlfriend. I really am sorry ):

It's ok, thanks for wandering back on in. I kinda figured that. It's very easy to be misunderstood on the internet. [IMG]

Aww, that sucks, hon. [IMG] I'm so sorry you have to go through that.
I'm certainly not angry with him. I'm proud of him. I just get to missing him dreadfully.
I'm not sure how that comes about in your relationships..My only suggestion is to be sure you tell them upfront how important your work is too you, or simply how time consuming it is.
Feel free to talk about it if you need to. I think my end of this thread is kinda played out.

I do need to be more up front about how I don't have a lot of spare time. I'm kinda whacky too so that doesn't help things either d: I suck at relationships. I have no room to give advice. Thanks you for being so cool
