I'm glad the San Francisco school board voted to eliminate JROTC! What is your opinion of the JROTC program? Does it have a place in public education? Should the United Nations ban programs like this? I believe militarization of youth is unethical. It is unethical to teach kids that the military and war is cool! These militarized youth have better things to do! Rather than marching and throwing rifles these children could be studying for college or taking part in community activism. I say show JROTC to the door! Teaching young children how to fight wars is sick! Kudos to Eric Mar!

A high school military recruitment program. What will they think of next?

You mean in terms of ending the JROTC program or that people had a problem with it in the first place?

That people had a problem with it in the first place. In other words, I have no problem with JROTC.

I don't see a problem either. Nobody is forced to do it right? We didnt have it in my school but I was under the impression that its an elective.

In my perfect world, no. But, not everyone feels the way I do about military, so I would let it be.

Well yeah, it's a known fact that teenagers are notorious for having figured out exactly what they want to do with their lives.

And there are cases of this recruitment tool being employed involuntarily.

Why should I tell you? When it turns out to be true, it will mean nothing to you.

So you don't have an example?

Yes, I do. But what's the point in telling you? You'll still wave the JROTC flag; that is, proving it to you will not cause you to concede any point about JROTC. Am I correct, or do I read you wrong?

You claimed that it is used involuntarily sometimes. All I want is an example.

If I do, will you admit to not researching the subject enough to know about the examples you are asking for?

 I want the see if your example actually shows what you say it does. Is it anecdotal?

And if it turns out that my examples are not anecdotal, will you admit that you did not research the subject enough to know what you are supporting?

If you don't really have an example you can just say so. There is no need for this dance.

    Sig,

No, I'm trying to show you that you did not research the issue even enough to know of these examples. That's why I'm asking if your support for JROTC will change when you see them. Tell me what will change if I present them to you.

EDIT: I'm getting the feeling that you're going to say that such examples mean nothing. You can prove me wrong. Just make a committment concerning what will change in your opinion of JROTC. Will it change anything?
