I'm no chemist, but I know the difference between real and synthetic.

The chemicals in weed give you the high by interacting with your neural receptors, etc..

But do they irreparably damage your receptors so that you cannot appreciate a good smoke ever again?

I'd like to know this before I start smoking Spice again. It's better than shit hash or dodgy weed at least.

the ingredients in spice are NOT synthetic THC. it's not THC. it's not even structurally related.

Sorry.... I have heard from many sources that it is some synthetic compound with a fancy scientific name that they call synth-THC. Are you saying it is something different, or that the stuff they call synth-THC is not really?

synthetic THC would have the exact same molecular structure as naturally occurring THC. the chemicals in spice and other things like it are usually JWH compounds - not even close to THC's structure.

so the stuff in spice is NOT synthetic THC
if someone is calling it that, you can now correct them :)

I didn't think it had exactly the same structure, but it is similar and has a similar effect on the brain. I don't think of it as THC, nor want to consume it.

Same as the stuff you get in vitamin tablets is not vitamin C, it's a synthetic version.

Am I correct in stating the only real synthetic THC out there is Marinol, or am I wrong?

I know my wife smokes a brand of "fake weed" Serenity Now it's called, I don't smoke it because it makes me all kinds of paranoid but even when I get the real thing she prefers to stick with the fake. I prefer she smoke the real thing as it helps with her RA where the fake only gets her high and god only knows what it's doing to her lungs.

I bought some spice arctic synergy once, that stuff made me really paranoid and fucked about with my blood pressure. Not good.

NO DUDE! read my reply carefully. and trust it - i am a scientist.

JWH chemicals are NOT structurally similar to THC, while they do have a somewhat similar effect on the brain (but largely unknown. frankly so are the effects of THC)

vitamin c tablets contain synthetic vitamin c, which is structurally IDENTICAL to the vitamin c molecules in an orange. it looks like this, regardless of how it was made

THC: (naturally occurring in cannabis, and marketed under the names Marinol and Dronibol(?)...still THC though)

JWH-018: (NOT synthetic THC - hardly even close)
