I tried using a whitening kit this year, but the stains have been pretty persistent so I don't have the blatantly fake white smile I was hoping for. I'm a heavy potsmoker -- does anyone know if frequent use of marijuana will stain teeth?
probably. do you brush regularly? smoke cigs? odd diet? so many factors come into play. speaking of, i need to go to the dentist...its been forever since i was there last.
nicotine doesnt stain your teeth, smoke stains your teeth, and of course pot smoke will make your teeth go a bit yellow if you smoke it that much. fuck peroxides and shit though just brush your teeth
No shit...don't put those chemicals anywhere near your body. I'm sure smoke will stain teeth, but not to the same degree say coffee or sugary snacks will.
moreso if youre smoking often. when you eat, the act of chewing the food acts as a cleaning mechanism. your teeth can sometimes turn yellow simply from not eating anything. smoking leaves a coating on your teeth that just lingers around (unless you have lots of water, or spit, things ive found help a lot with general mouth hygene concerning smoking, but people getpissed off when i spit a lot), and because of combinations of many factors, can do more staining on your teeth than you can notice. remember that sugar feeds corrosive life forms on your teeth, but smoke just leaves dry, corrosive chemicals on your teeth, and the tar and all seeps into your teeth over time, resulting in the stain
lol i can feel for stoner bills thoery, but that pic is just ridiculus, sorta elvish goofy funy...... it culd just be that im high thoughh
Actually, nicotine does stain your teeth. I wasn't too sure, but I googled it and looked at 4 different pages that said it.
4 pages that said it.. and how many of those pages explained how the nicotine stains your teeth? i did a search too and found no information other than sentances sayign 'nicotine stains your teeth'. thats not much of a source of information. theres no reason why nicotine would stain the teeth, it is not noted for having any particular colour, and is in much lower doses than tar, which is noted for staining a multitude of white things in the world, teeth, buildings, cars, hands, etc. nicotine could deteriorate teeth but is not going to be the cause of staining. nicotine is also not a sticky molecule/viscous material, unlike tar.
Holy shit, Bill does know everything. I do eat a pretty normal diet, but I usually get stoned late at night and pass out before I can get up and brush my teeth again (I usually brush after dinner). Maybe I'll just keep a toothbrush and all the fixins in my room.
Shit, I guess I just found out why my dad (bigger pothead than me) keeps random bottles of listerine everywhere that he regularly spends time.
you dont get nicotine stains on your finger. you get tar stains on your finger. before you got nicotine stains, the nicotine would be absorbed through your skin and into your blood. unlike tar, which is a mixture of large, insoluable, viscous molecules, nicotine is a natural (as in, it is formed in living things, and is active on chemical receptor sites on cells in a very wide range of organisms) chemical, easily soluable in water. thus it washes away, for one. notice mechanics hands are almost permanently black? yet none of it comes off their hands, caus it's hydrocarbon staining and it is not easy to remove.
