Does Eve know God more than Adam?

Genesis tells us that to know good and evil is to know God.

To be as Gods, knowing good and evil.

Since Eve received the first lesson, does this mean that she learned faster than Adam?

Could this be why today, there are more men studying religion than women?

Men rule the world and make it an ugly place. Would women, because they know more of God than men, do a better job of ruling?

Is it just because we are physically stronger than women, that we rule or is it women that have not exercised their greater wisdom and taken control?

In one sense we are all trained by women, at least when young children. Why do they stop teaching us?

Would it be better if they did not stop or is it a case of them not doing a good job with the young and reaping the ugly result later?

I am rather confused by the whole thing and need enlightenment.

    Who is closer to God?

    Who should lead?

Who is better suited to lead?

Do men have more to learn and is this why most posters and searchers here are men?

    Regards

    DL

ummm...im not sure how deep your understanding of women goes, but i thought they were human, just like everyone else?

i guess they could be some fantastic creature that holds all the secrets of religion and know more about God, and have greater wisdom. but....i dont think so.

    Q + A round.

    1. Neither of the genders are any closer to God than the other. that is extremely generalized.

    2. Lead what? the human race? that should fall into God's heap of responsibility.

    3. Same question as number 2.

    4. this is really generalized once again. i dont think women inherently have more knowledge of God than anyone else.

They seem to seek it less. I wonder why they have less need to seek. One does not usually seek what they already have.

There is no Adam and Eve. There never was.

Adam represents the human soul as it came down into the material world for the first time.

Eve represents the material world and all that is created within it. A womb where human creations grow.

The Garden of Eden is a state of being rather than a place. It is the time before duality overshadowed the soul's ability to see all things as one. To "know" God. The apple represents the moment after, knowing nothing but duality.

Satan is the mind itself. It represents all the attractions to this world of human creation. Until this attraction is broken, the soul cannot regain it's ability to "know God".

But it will know hell on earth, because it still feels the pull of heaven and can't understand why. The human mind is tortured by this unseen force. It interferes with it's desire to do as it pleases.

Hell is the mind's inability to understand.

Heaven is beyond mind, where all things become as one. Point of origin. Home.

Do you look for what you already have? If no then this is the proof.

Nope, I see Christianity as a mix of mythology and spirituality. I reject the mythological parts and embrace the parts that honor the unknowable Truth.

How can you honor a truth that is not knowable?
How do you know that you are honoring anything?

Truth cannot be understood by the dualistic mind, which splits everything into 2 polar opposites. Truth is unity or recognition of non-dualism & therefore cannot be understood by the dualistic mind, which makes it unknowable. It can be experienced, as Buddha and later Jesus tried to provide paths to reach this experience. If you have not experienced it, then this will not make sense at all.

It's like trying to intellectually understand space- the mind cannot comprehend the formless (space), only forms.

i meant the first part of the statement. prove that women do not seach for answers any more than men do.

and stop wowing everyone. it's incredibly condescending. as if you know something we dont.

I guess his "wow" proves one of my statements- "If you have not experienced it, then this will not make sense at all."

It's okay, not everyone has to believe the same thing I do!

How would you respond to those that I have wowed?

As to searching it appears that women search much less than men.

well i thought her post was insightful and well thought out. i would have considered her thought and if i disagreed with them i would have done more than just left a one word message of sarcasm to insinuate she is stupid.

and once again you fail to prove that women must search less than men. i have not noticed greater knowing among females. seems like everyone is on a level playing field to me.

hippie_chick, do you know all the secrets of the universe?
plz share, if this is the case.

LOL! I've only seen a glimpse of the "big picture", kind of a satori experience, but once again I have falling victim to the mind- that's what separates humanity into "us" vs. "them." When you see we are all the same, that we all suffer, and ultimately, all paths point in the direction of Truth (no matter how twisted the path may be!)

It's a refreshing experience to separate your identity from the thinker mind- there is an enormous freedom and connection w/ the larger picture. And of course, the realization that words cannot capture "Truth" so a lot of the dogma that creates religions is bs- humanity's way to claim their belief system as the only correct one. C'est la vie.

    Peace and love
