Does anyone really care?

Does anyone in the west really care whether the West goes in and invades other countries? What does it matter to you unless you actually live in those countries that are being invaded or have family and friends there?
I am not advocating that the west should go in there, just asking - given that the western armies are invading, and that most of us are not affected - what does it really matter? Because there is NOTHING absolutely ZERO we can do to stop it. May as well just put our feet up and watch it on telly without complaining otherwise its just hot air

Ok so what do I do to stop the war - I have tried going on huge demonstrations - fat lot of good that did. I tried writing to a member of parliament but no-one bothered to write back. I gave a small amount of money to amnesty international. I even donated a lot of time to amnesty, but it hasnt stopped a war ! NOT ONE so have you got any ideas - and I am not gonna get myself killed to stop a war - you cant fight fire with fire

About the iraqis and palestinian dead just being numbers - the American soldiers are just numbers too

Dear bro, maybe we cannot stop this war, but we can stop futuristic wars, when ppl see their leaders are looking for wars, they shouldn't vote for them again, Believe ME if ALL Soldiers (if you know some try to change their minds) will stop serving, you tell me would there be any war! we have to open ppl's eyes, they All can stop working in the sensitive jobs, but how if they sadly don't care about others, We first should really care, ppl should stop inventing and creating weapons to such countries (Myself All weapons should be banned)​

That wont happen - be pragmatic - not idealistic. There is a solution to war but that is not it. I know someone who got beat up for telling a couple of soldiers to desert and give up the military.
Also you say those soldiers chose the army of the USA and Britain but so did the liberationist armies choose to fight - its not like they are innocent - how can there be a war if just one side throws away its guns? It takes two to tango. So what if they live in occupation - better red than dead (remember that old chestnut of a saying?)

I care because innocent lives are being lost and tax funds and resources that could be better used for those that really need help are being diverted to the industrial military complex.

I just heard on C-Span that funds that have been sent to Iraq are not properly documented or tracked, yet they add to our deficit. That means that people that should recieve support won't because of graft and collusion.

The death of anyone that wasn't behind all this to me is unecessary.

Those in power today rely on people feeling powerless and giving up. That's how they gain even more power.

I know, but people need to be involved more in the entire process. People get all concerned with policies when it comes time for elections, why not follow politics all the time?
