Recently, a poster on another forum I visit claimed they saw something disturbing on TV. As you may know, the Discovery Channel airs a show in which lifelike animal robots are built to fight against each other. I haven't paid much attention to the show. However, this person claimed that, in order to test a mechanical leopard, the show's producers had it crush a live pig to death on camera. I don't know whether to believe this or not. This seems like a stunt more appropriate for controversy-courting Fox, rather than the Discovery Channel, which at least postures as being more family-oriented and educational. However, you never know. I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about this?
Ok, well, I checked back on that thread and the claim has pretty much been dismissed. Although I was having a hard time beliving it, it did have a little more credibility than other internet board rumors, because it named a specific show, a specific episode, and did draw from the fact that quite a few "reality" shows kill and harm animals. So I guess that's the end of that rumor.
