I got my nipple pierced in october, and it still pusses and itches, and its getting reaaal annoying. Does anyone know how long it takes for a nipple to heal?
I was told 6-8 months. clean it once or twice a day as your piercer recommended and it will heal. Don't play with it too much, or fiddle with it. I was told that nipple piercings can sometiems be fine and then flare up again a bit later and get the crusties on the edges of your piercing again (I forget the real name for 'em)
What are you cleaning it with? I have mine both done 2 x. The first ones which were horizontal took about 3 mo. to srop leaving a crust on the ring, the second ones which are verticle made me lactate for about 6 mo. It wasn't much, but it was annoying. So my advice is, don't mess with it, clean it one or two times a day with an organic cleaner. Never ever use Alcohol or peroxide. You might want to have the peircer look at it.
I was told 6-8 weeks for mine(male). I got them last week and they're fine, no pain(unless I do something to piss them off) and no pus or nasty crap. They do crust a little. If you've had them since october, I'd be concerned that they aren't further along by now. Anyway, my recommendation would be to go to the piercer, use saline to clean them, and not touch them with dirty hands/mouths. Have you ever considered you're allergic to the jewelry. Sometimes steel creates problems for folks. Maybe titanium or gold might work better for you. Hope things work out, Peace
thanks i also am a smoker and i hear that that slows down the healing process, i am pretty good at cleaning it, but i do work at a pizza place and when i am finished im covered in all gross shit like sweat and grease stuff which also probably isnt good for my nipple either. thanks for the advice man.
i was told about a year befor i could change the rings and get shelds. but what are you useing to clean them with and how many times a day do you clean them? i ues doal complete antibavtreial forming hand wash. and i clean them two times a day, and i use a natural oatmeal lotion after each cleaning. the lotion helps with the iching alot. i have fonund that cleaning them in the shower is a lot easer (and more injoyable,) and uses less q-tips. do you move the rings? if you do move them do you move them alot or jest so you can claen them. i found if i move the rings to much thay will start to hurt, but if you don't move them at all thay could get really dirty. i had mine peirced on the 6th of march 2005 ( my 21st b-day gift to myself) thay olny iched for about the first week or so after being peirced. now thay are fine and i am counting down the mounths intill i can get myself my 22ed b-day gift. a pair of spider wed shelds. honey, nothing should be coming out of the holes except a very little pit of "skin" that is the only way i can desrid it, around the ring. where the ring and nipple meat. you mite whant to take them out or go see your Dr, and get on some medication. if thay have been doing that for that long take them out let them heall completly and get them doun someplace eles. i know that will be hard but if you don't i have herd that it can be a major thing if you let them go with out treatment or taking them out. i hope this helps some i know that it is alot i jest whanted you to have all the info that i did. if i had to take mine out i would be pissed as hell, but sometimes you have to be. apple seed.
You should clean them only when they need cleaning, too much can irritate the skin hole and make it worse. The stuff you describe coming out of them is cells from inside your body, since they have been destroyed the body is rejecting them. If they start gettin really sore and the discharge starts to smell or turns a funny colour, go to you doctor. Whatever you don't take them out if they are infected, the infection can end up goin into your blood stream coz your lettin the hole close up. It'll take a good few months for the immediate area to heal but all in all about a year.
I've had my nips pierced for about 3-4 years now, and they get crusties from time to time. They arent like inital healing crusties-more like the crap you get when you stretch your ears-basically its nothing but sebum and dead skin cells. Nipples also take a hell of a long time to heal, especially if you have large breasts. The bigger the boobs, the more pressure is being put on the piercing and that can irritate/slow healing. Do you have rings or barbells in the piercings? Rings can cause problems with healing by turning and pulling the crusties into the fistula and causing irritation. Rings also put unnecessary pressure on the piercing if you wear a bra. Be patient. Nipples aren't an easy piercing to heal.
I play with it all the time its hard not to but ill try to stop. Im a guy and have really small nipples i mean really small, my friends say they look painted on, ill try and take a picture of it and post it because i think its infected, i also have a huge loop in it given to me by my old girlfriend, so dont make fun.
