does anyone know how to figure out a pattern by looking at a picture?

    there's a really cute hat that i saw, but i'm not sure if i'm a strong enough knitter to figure it out just by looking at the picture. are there any websites or books that can talk me thru reverse engineering a knitting project?

    i raided the library and got out a bunch of books like 'knitting school', unexpected knitting, etc... maybe i can figure it out, if i ever get some time to sit and chill with my yarn

    i think i was drinking too much eggnogg when i wrote that last post. *ahem*

    dont think the freestyle knitting thing is going to work out for me right now. i'm sticking to patterns/modifying patterns.
