Does anyone have recurring trips that they can evolve to a higher dimensional being?

Ok, its a long shot, but here goes.
For about 10 years now, almost any time I take LSD, mushrooms or ayahuasca I become convinced that I have the possibility to heal my karma, evolve my DNA, and shift my being to a different dimension. I think, right then and there, I could become an enlightened god-being with special powers, if I just do the right thing (think thoughts of love, heal my karma, etc).

When I start coming down, I sometimes get disappointed, well, that its not going to happen, and I'm stuck in a wartorn dimension ..

...but more than that, I get disappointed that my trips are "wasted" with an obsession that is basically false. I can't seem to will myself out of it.

Has anyone else ever been convinced that we are destined to "ascend"?
Has anyone else ever had recurring beliefs in journeys that seem ridiculous when you're down?
Should I stop ?

 

This is a very common theme with trippers, especially those who are prone to believing in more evidence-lacking themes like 2012, astrology, chakras, etc. I'm not saying chakras are not a useful way to look at some aspects of human existence, i'm saying that if you think your so-and-so chakra is actually so-and-so color because the youtube video told you it is, you probably aren't very good at critical thinking. So you get stuck in this mind game of ascension, because the real heart of the matter is to not go anywhere but realize you are here, and now, and its always this. Your mind wants to escape to a higher order that doesn't exist (you understand that there is no such thing as evolving your dna consciously or getting super powers i hope? it is just a drive to do so?) because it is unable to break through that final barrier that allows you to see it is all infinitely and eternally manifest in every quanta and moment everywhere always. Essentially you are tricking yourself into believing your own fairy tales that reek of religious programming from your childhood, or self-administered belief systems you've come across in your 'enlightened' explorations of eastern religions and non-traditional ways of thinking.

that's my take on it resist the 'escape' drive in your mind, it only gives you as options for escape fantasy, or destruction. meditate and find out why you are unable to cope with being what you are, no super powers, no eleventh dimension DNA, no nothing. Just joe shmoe on some psychedelic who thinks he's all that and a bag of karma. :sultan:

Psychedelics can be used to ascend, but only to a certain point, and only used in the most extreme way. Once you reach the second level, you will need lots of help moving up to the final, celestial level.

I took mushrooms one time, and upon staring into the sky for what seemed like ages, I came to the conclusion that this world wasn't real. I walked back to my apartment, convinced it was time to leave. I smoked an unreal amount of kief, and went to lay down in my bed in the dark. What followed was an experience I will never forget and has forever changed the way I perceive the world, myself, and the beyond.

I repeated over and over again "I want out" or "I'm done with this place." After about 2-3 minutes of doing this, I suddenly found myself in some type of abyss. I was not on the ground nor in the air. I could feel my body but could not see it. I could turn my head but could not see anything. It was complete darkness. The only reason I know it was real is because this state lasted a solid 5-6 minutes. I went crazy, because as soon as I arrived and realized what had happened, I wanted to come back. Thank Elu that the Universe decided I had more to do.

It took me a long time to bounce back from that experience. I'm talking years of fighting loss of interest in life. Then my relationships with my fellow humans improved immensely, my compassion for my fellow humans improved tenfold, and my perception of what this reality is in regards to my projection and understanding of it changed drastically.

By the by these drugs were used my shamans and prophets for hundreds of years to achieve ascension. It can be done, just not by watching television or meditating. You have to allow your ego to die, which feels like an actual death.

Anyone telling you that it is impossible has never felt such an experience and probably never will due to a lack of a free thinking mind.

I love you too. What I meant was the urge to escape this reality for some 'higher' reality that has magical powers in it is simply a symptom of discontent with reality. The solution here is not to investigate exactly how to consciously alter one's DNA, but to figure out why one isn't happy in reality as is, since as far as I and most others can tell, this is the only show in town. Even the discovery of what may at first appear to be "other realities" is just an expansion of the scope of Reality.

Oh and Mr. Writer, I dont really agree with you on this one. Those higher realitys and such are metaphors for balance and health of being, if she follows what is inside of her, the medicine will work.
