I'm doing an informal survey. How many people actually know someone who fried their brains on acid. For many years I have heard stories from folks who claim that a friend of a friend was perfectly normal until they took acid. After taking acid this friend of a friend was either schizo or in a vegetative state. Supposedly the LSD destroyed their minds. Trouble is it is always a friend of a friend. I don't actually know anyone personally who was normal and then went nuts. I have known two people who were going insane, (and it was pretty obvious) who took acid as a desperate act of self medication in an attempt to stop the collapse of their sanity. But having known lots of folks who took acid over many years, I can't say I know anyone personally who wrecked their lives on LSD. After asking around casually, I can't find anyone who actually knows someone who was normal who went permanently crazy after taking acid. Am I just asking the wrong people or is the propaganda even flakier than I imagined.
If theres someone who went crazy from acid this would be the place to find 'em. Getting them to admit it is the problem.=P
I had a friend who had mental problems. He had a bad trip and he went little coo coo. I think it just opened doors that would have eventually been opened anyway, I mean he'd always been a little nuts, but after that last trip he was just never the same. He used to call my house over and over and hang up. He'd come to my door and when I answered he would talk to me for a minute and then extend his arm and start shaking it violently... Then he would take off... This happened on more than on occasion. As I said, I think it was just a matter of time before he was in full blown nuts stage like he was... the acid just kinda pushed it along.
I had a friend once that thought he was jesus for a few months after he dosed 4 hits for his first time. although, eventually we convinced him that he wasn't infact jesus. today he is a more openminded person because of his experiences. lsd does have the power to alter one's perception. so it's easy to see how after one person has had realizations during an acid trip other people who weren't there for the experience might think that person crazy, if only based out of their own fear. we're all unique in our own regards anyway. "paranoia strikes deep into your life it will creep it starts when your always afraid you step out of line, the man come and take you away"
It has potential for negative mental effects, and some people's reactions are severe occurrences of HPPD experiencing the strong effects of a trip for some extended period of time afterwards a trip. I think it has a significant amount of potential for rewiring your brain for good or for worse, and may leave one lacking their normal mental capacity. As for it physically destroying brain cells, aka fry, absolutely not....I'm not a doctor or scientist but I would lean more towards thinking acid has a positive physical effect on your brain physiology.
Nope, never. Although I no longer take hallucinogens, I have experienced hundreds of LSD trips along with scores of friends equally experienced and have never known of anyone "frying" their mind as a direct result of having taken LSD. ZW
lsd doesnt fry the brain. person can change and be a little confused. i was tripping od datura and dramamine many times. after those trips i felt crazy. I mean, the world was a giant hallucination for me. The ticks of people, quantom chaos of movements. Flies flying around me but it was just my eye. only the walls made of watter and the bugs in my eye Something is out of order, the world is not what it seems. That can develop craziness. That is the defense mechanism for human beings when they are not allowed into higher realm If you're into trips search for Ra Material (law of one) maybe it is a cool thing to read while tripping. It is a really cool text and it makes a lot of sense. it was very interesting for me to read it while i was on Hawaii baby woodrose seeds. Here is the link http://www.lawofone.info/
Only drugs I've ever seen people get actually fried from are meth, pcp, herion, and dxm. Oh, I've heard a story about my fathers friends brother that he started thinking he was jesus too... but i think it's just another "Glass of orange juice"
Like Omalley said, I know a couple or three that had some problems after doing acid, but I can't say they weren't all that OK to begin with....and can't say acid was the only thing they were doing.
Ive seen folks fried from polydrug use. Copious amounts of acid and rcs, pills, you name it. But i think mostly it was from MDMA in huge doses... My neighbor is an old timer who did acid in the 60s and early 70s. Hes a little odd, but not fried in the least.
like an egg on the sidewalk, once you trip 8 times your insane for the rest of your life, dont do it, ever
I've put myself on doses of lsd that I wasn't at all ready for many times. and I've never had any long term effects, like flashbacks etc
That's just one of the stupid things people who are ignoriant about this shit spread around. He was being sarcastic. lol
LSD has been nothing but pleasant for me. I still swear that LSD grows brain cells. I'm not fried at all. I am forever blossoming.
It's just a tool. Sometimes a tool can chop your fucking face off if you're stupid. It's not devine, and it's not evil. It's just a tool.
na, this was a very good friend of mine. sometime in 2008 he dosed up 4 hits of lsd with a company of my other friends who were also unexperienced with tripping. they were watching the matrix and he described his trip as being neo and waking up from the matrix. then he thought he was jesus. at a few parties later that year we even had to stop him from jumping off the porch because he thought he could fly. like, for reals. i'm telling the truth here. i guess that goes to show that you need to be careful when your getting started off with hallucinogens. it's alot easier to handle a heavy dose when you know how to navigate the psychedelic realms a little better. although, like i said, his sanity DID eventually return, and he really grew alot from what he went through. he is a much kinder, gentle, and openminded person today. he's also still very smart and cognitive, his experience didn't reduce his mental capacity in the least.
Oh yeah. Still gives me the fear when I'm tripping to this day. Not exactly "The Matrix" but that same sort of concept. On my last trip I had this nice little moment coming out of a headspace like that whren I thought "Fuck you people (talking to no one in general, more like a prayer ) I'm not letting you lie to me. It IS real. Life is real and you're not tricking me anymore" lol, drugs kids
