Download or Burn the music from your favorite music artists?

If their my favorite artists I'll buy their albums without a doubt, for example, Metallica. Havnt made a good album since Black but i bought St. Anger anyway.

    SO.....what do you do?

I do download some songs, but I almost always buy the actual album. I prefer listening to the real albums instead of burned CD's. I'm weird like that.

Sometimes if I'm really craving an album, I'll go out and buy it. Otherwise, I don't like spending 15 bucks on a CD I can burn for 10 cents. Sure, I want to support the band and all, but damn, that shit adds up quick. I have like a hundred dollars worth of CDs I want, you think ima spend that much? HELL NO!

If I have a friend that has the album I'll burn it. If I only like a song or 2 from the album I'll download it. Otherwise I'll buy the albums.

For the most part, I like single songs as opposed to a band's work as a whole, so I usually just download songs. I don't like to shell out the money for an album that has only one or two songs I like. But, there are quite a few bands that I really like and I try to buy their CD's but that doesn't happen all too often.

nowadays its almost like if a friend bought a cd, you kinda bought it too. such a strange event.

i have bought a handfull of cd's in the past year. which could be alot depending on which angle you hold them. but ive purchased some neil young, paul simon and some miles davis an a few others. i guess it depends on the level of respect i have for the artist. but im more into the electronic scene, which says alot.

I try to avoid it as much as possible. If the band has all of the songs on the website, then yeah, I'll probably download it. Because at least then I have the artist's concent. But I feel really uncomfortable downloading an entire CD from some arbitrary website. If I really want it that bad, I just buy it.

I usually record my own. I'm a Taper, just this past summer I've recorded around 50 shows.
