Do you think that black-only schools would promote racism?

If the goal is to not be judged on the color of your skin, then why would these educational institutions only accept you based on your skin color?

Please state your opinion and your race.

Of course they promote racism. They are racist. If an all-white school was opened, there is no doubt you would immediately hear cries of "racism."

I am white, for the record, not that it should matter.

It seems to me that the "blacks" promote racism more than most whites.

Where are there white-only schools? I don't know of any existing.

I think the OP is referring to schools that only allow blacks.

    And bleeding heart liberal types.

Anyone who makes an issue of race is more likely than not racist themselves. It's somehow alright for black people to be racist bigots.

I am curious to see if any African Americans see this as furthering the gap between race.

Definitely. We're all born without racism, loving everyone. We grow up and are taught racism.

    Wrong

Black colleges allow students to thrive academically in an environment free from the burden of white racism [IMG]

What I’m basically saying is they don’t have to kowtow to every white professor who has already set an imaginary ceiling on their academic potential :cheers2:

I dont think there are any schools at the moment that only allow a certain race. I created this post cause I overheard the television saying there's a HBCU in Georgia, along with others, promoting this idea.

    Howard University in Washington, DC.
    Morgan State University in Baltimore.
    Lemoyne-Owen College in Memphis
And about a dozen others in the US.

There are private primary schools that cater only to black children in just about every city. So?

Why do you care what other people do? Perhaps you should place this much emphasis on bettering your own life and education and stop worrying about what black people are doing, and stop making a public issue of it.

I am Caucasian and freckled, since it seems to matter.

Except the "racism" most black people see is nowhere but in their own heads. This victim mentality is further instilled by charlatans like Jesse Jackson and "The Reverend" Al Sharpton, one of the biggest racists alive today that gets airtime on mainstream television and radio to spew his hatred. I am not saying there are not white racists. Of course there are. But there are far more openly racist blacks, and somehow that's all right. A lot of this stems from the victim mentality, and white, bleeding heart liberals, many of whom think they're doing what's right, play a big role in furthering these racial tensions rather than looking beyond race and bringing everyone together as human beings.

    That makes sense.

But it still promotes racism, it doesn't fix the problem.

Why do they need special privelages? I would feel like there's something wrong with me if I wasn't allowed out with the general public because of preconceived notions that I'm not allowed as much as them. And the fact is, there isn't anything wrong with them and handing things to them on a silver platter is only going to make them lazy. This goes for any race.
