I wonder if anyone will admit it..I think pop music blows..the sad part is I bought my work truck brand new 5 years ago and it only has an am/fm radio and I dont really like talk radio either....the saddest part is, I even know alot/most of the songs on the radio by heart..what is wrong with me? 11:45
Depends on what you consider popular music? If you consider Usher, Jay-Z or ... Madonna, then the answer is No, I don't. But I admit I like Christina Aguilera or ... Amy Winehouse.
how bout lil' wayne..my youngest daughter thinks he is the best..argggg how about pop alternative..ya know, 3 doors down, green day, blink 182..like that
the best i heard latly is www.myspace.com/tommytokyo , but mostly its garbage all new music.:cheers2:
i like norah jones and shes pretty popular. i also like bjork, the flaming lips, and manu chao, and they're all pretty popular as well. but none of them are really "pop" music. but i dont dislike music for simply being popular. sometimes lots of people like them because they're actually good, not just because theyve essentially been created by record companies i will grudgingly admit to really liking the cardigans, and they're straight up pop. i dont know. i like what i like. i'm no musical coinnesseur or audiophile. i dont really follow whats popular, either though. i find new music through friends and online mostly. sometimes its popular, sometimes obscure (christine gunn is a good cellist i found completely at random, and i dont think shes very well known at all)
The majority of it sucks, but some of it I can dig. I can totally dig lil wayne. while i see the hilarity and almost kitschyness of it, i just can't deny how great he is. he just flows so damn well.
Sometimes I suppose. It depends on what you consider 'popular'. Nothings I listen to is that exotic. Zero 7 and Thievery Corporation exotic.
I hate today's pop.. but a lot of the music I like used to be popular.. ultra-popular even.. like.. um.. The Beatles?
I cant stand lil' wayne...not only is he fugly, he sound like poop! I do like Blink 182 and have for years, Green Day, Linkin Park (love Linkin Park) so uhm ya I do like some popular music. I mostly listen to country though
My ten year old sing "Hey Jude" all the time. It melts my heart to her sing it. She totally loves that song.
I was actually thinking about this last night. but I think about it a lot, haha. it all depends on how you define "popular". are Sonic Youth popular? say that less than 5% of the population have heard them before, but they headline shows and are gods to a certain demographic of people. if by popular you mean stuff in the top 10, I do not like pop music. that isn't snobbery or puritanism on my part, I am just a very serious music fan and it doesn't catch my attention.
