do you know your tarot card and what it means?

anyone into tarot? i used to be for a while, and i found it interesting of your tarot card is. it usually shows up alot, or represents you in your reading.
or the reader will tell you that this is your card. Ive read that it has to do with the day and month that your born, so i wanted to see if that is actually right.

for example, my tarot card is the hermit,. it would show up all the time, and it would represent me, and i could lay down all of my cards side down and run my hands over all of them and feel the energy of one card, pick it up, and it would be the hermit. my day and month is july 9th. and the book says that the hermit would be my card.
