Like non-junk mail or bills...and if so what do you get and how often. Do you send mail to people and why and what? Lastly if you get packages sent and they give you a slip that hasn't been properly filled out, what do you do to get them to send the package to you again?
my best friend is big on sending mail...she's a graphic designer, so she does it to show off most of the time. She calls it advertising-haha! She's one of those people who sends those Christmas cards that have pictures of the family on it. I can only imagine what she'll send this year now that she has a baby. I just wanna know where she gets the money to send these things to 100+ people! But I do get mail. My grandmother sends me the tax stuff for the house. And my aunt and I have a postcard mailing tradition...we find the most bizarre postcards and mail them to each other. I'm in the lead since I found one with drag queens on it. I mailed my friend a roll of toilet paper once. Since I used the rest of her last roll when I was at her house. It went over well.
I mail and receive thank you cards most often. I rarely send birthday cards but older relatives like to send cards to me/my family. My husband's grandma sends us a card for pretty much every holiday. I buy and sell stuff on ebay so that too. That's pretty much the extent of it. I don't understand your last question.. You got a package addressed to you and it didn't get delivered?
This thread makes me want to send mail to someone. I think i'm going to mail something random to someone random. Maybe a spoon or a sock or something.
ohh this reminds me of a story. i was at the post office one time and a couple got a new po box and the number was my birthday, so i remembered the number of course and one day i wrote them a page long letter saying i was pissed at them for stealing my box. and since i was there when they got it i knew what they looked like so i incorporated that into the letter just to make it even more creepy. im sure they asked everyone they know if they sent that letter but that couldnt have been to many people because they had only had it less than a week by the time they got the letter.
pensfan13 that's hilarious, but totally creepy. I hope they weren't pot smokers they probably never checked their mail again. I live in an apartment complex where all the boxes are together in front of the office. A package was sent, but maybe it was too big for the extra "package" boxes or maybe they were all full. In my mailbox I got a little slip of paper saying it was delivered...actually it just said I have a delivery and has a bunch of options but doesn't say anything about what to do with it or anything really. I love the idea of sending mail, but I really suck at getting it out. I like to send letters and paper crafts...sometimes I like to just do something totally random. I like craft swaps & zines and all that good papery evil. I'm not good at sending cards or things on special occasions.
my mom used to occasionally mail me things, but now i live close to her again so she just gives me stuff in person. my grandma sends me birthday cards, and i get christmas cards from a few people. i rarely mail anything myself outside of bills. are you not able to just go to the post office and pick up the package? i'm not sure if they will deliver it again for you.
i get mail from and send mail to my friend who is treeplanting right now, because it's the only way to communicate with him reliably. other than that, i get a card from my grandmother on my birthday.
i get a statement from my bank, i get analog-sf magazene once every two months, every six months i get a reminder from my doctor to make an appointment, i get a letter from food stamps every three months wanting me to start using an amount i don't even bother with because its about half of what any visit to the store costs me twice a week. but i guess it would help their apropriation or something if i was to use it. except i'd have to get a new ebt card and account to do so and i don't see any point for me in it. i'm trying to think, but right off hand that's all i can think of. i check the post office box about twice a week, more or less, to see if there's anything. i don't think there's anyone who knows it has any reason really to want to send me anything that i know of. i don't write letters myself. my communicating is premarily on forums and galleries where i play or have my art. mostly that's fur affinity. though there are a ton of other places on the net i have accounts on. the good news is i don't have any seperate bills that i get regularly. my rent, which might otherwise seem high for the postage stamp sized place that i live in, includes everything, all the utilities, even tv and internet, not that the tv is worth a dam, and the electrical service is marginally adiquite to cook with, but then i do have two computers and an air conditioner running almost constantly. i do get tons of pizza cupons and store announcement that i never need or use. but that's it. i look on no news and generally good news as far as what shows up in the post office box is concerned.
i still use my old aol email account, so whenever i sign on that guy still screams "YOU'VE GOT MAIL" at me.
