Do you? I do. I don't have too much money, but whenever I have a few spare bucks, I blow them on the video lottery. I do it fairly responsibly, and have actually won big several times... but, if I was to average it all out, I'd probably be in the hole. What's money after all though? In an ideal world, I wouldn't engage in this sort of behavior, but this world is far from ideal.
gamble is pointless and boring. have at it if you like it. feel free. but, i have more fun things to do with my time then watching stupid numbers and symbols go round and small piles of money get smaller. once in a while it coughs some back at you, great. so play with the houses money when it does, and when its back down to what you came in with, get up and walk out. or walk out sooner, because that's the only way you'll get anything by doing so. a long time a go i read a book by a then casino owner. one of the few that made sense. three roles, draws, deals, whatever, if you're not playing with the house's money after the first three shots, its not your night. period. that's it. you don't have to subsidise them, there's plenty of other suckers who will. when you're winning, sure, keep at it as long as you are. as soon as you loose three in a row, get up and walk out ahead. its still gonna cost you something for those first three shots to find out. but its dumb to keep throwing more. the idea that you're gonna win it back is bullshit for suckers. so, you know, with that in mind, i live in a town where gamboling is pretty much the economy. there really isn't much else there to produce the revenue that then feeds the rest of the local businesses. and, you know, i appologise for maybe not supporting the local economy more then buying groceries and paying my rent, be seriously i've felt no attraction to it yet. i worked in one of those places, in the vaults, back when they used real coins. so i've lived in this town i guess about 4 years now, and the only time i've walked into one of those places was to eat at the resteraunt, or when the furrys have their annual convention there. because the hotels in town that have convention spaces also happen to be the casinos. i don't even waste a buck on a lottery ticket, that's how, call it cheap, call it just plain uninterested. bling is boring, sorry. creating and exploring gratify. if its not something i can create or explore with, i'm really just not interested. and i really don't entirely understand why anyone is. but if they are, sure, have fun, if that's what it is.
I rarely gamble. I accompanied some family to the greyhound races a few weeks ago; a nostalgic trip. I bet $16 all night.
The occasional lottery ticket. Even the times I have been to a casino I set a limit on what I spend and do not go over that. I might be just too cheap to gamble money away.
never saw the appeal. even when i go to the casino, i just drink and watch my friends throw their money away.
I have several online betting accounts but really only use one. I'm not a huge gambler, I just find it makes watching sport more interesting. Say, I'm not even really a fan of soccer, but throw 5€ down, that game all a sudden has a meaning behind it. I love going to the horse races but I'm useless at picking a winner. I'll bet on anything with the name "Saxon" in and I find they do pretty well. I'm more successful on greyhounds. I don't do the trots.
when i was little i used to pick my parents' bets on the harness races at the fair every year. i just went by whichever horse had the best winning percentage in the past. i usually turned $20 into $30 by the end of the night using that method.
No, just the lottery when the payoff exceeds 300 million, ... ....but with the new $2,000,000,000 dollar casino currently under construction just north of Boston and so close-by it will be impossible to resist. A rendering of the Mystic River gambling resort to be called Wynn Harbor Park. Hotwater
Very minimally. The husband and I used to do Vegas a lot, but we haven't gone in awhile. The casinos that were near me got rid of the dog racing, which I used to enjoy betting on. The kids enjoyed watching them run too. Yup, I was one of those parents. I'll also bet on the derby most years. I don't buy powerball tickets/scratch-off tickets.
I've got 10$ on Denver Broncos 14+ against Cardinals right now. Up 7-0. will make $101 if they do it. Why I took that is, it's week four of NFL pre season and as far as I'm concerned, anything is possible.
Anything is indeed possible. It's very much a 50/50 with the pre-season, so all in all, that's a pretty good bet.
