we dont use them here anymore everything gets rounded up or rounded down to the nearest 5 cent when using cash...it stays to the penny when using debit/electronic payment
the article said they sell for about 15 cents circulated so that would give a clue to how easy they are to find.
i like to collect them, cleaning them and putting them in books gives me something to do when I'm bored. Plus i figure we'll get rid of them soon and round everything up to 5 cents and I'll be able to make some money down the line.
Never clean a coin, it reduces their value. Yes, there were Indian head pennies, I have one or two somewhere. I also look for wheat pennies and I pick up every penny I see. Heads up is good luck.
a lot of us just collect them for the sake of collecting cleaning a used coin that is only worth face value doesnt hurt its value
i have a lot of wheat coins too...theyre easier to find here than our own king george and king edward pennies
ive had a picture of collection box in my album for 4 years ..all my stuff is used and touched so i dont care when showing them if people touch them
