Unless you're Dooming experience looks like this, you have not played Doom.

Completely, utterly, free. In my opinion, the best port.

Here, is where I get all the modern graphic's for it(models, textures, skyboxes, hi-res fonts, etc). There's also digital soundtracks, and a soundpack.
It's the only way to Doom.

No, it's the Doomsday engine. It interprets the DOOM source code differently, or modifies it. It works with all Dooms(1, Ultimate, 2, TNT, Plutonia), and with Heretic, Hexen, and the Hexen Expansion.
Check the first link to find out all about it.

Just a few days ago I was going over some programs on my computer and configured one so that I could make some Doom Levels myself! I am so new at this and it seems quite complicated but I do want to create some of my own Doom levels.

I have been distracted by the Descent game and I'm currently on level 23 trying to get to that last level!

ahh, that's J-Doom right? heh, way to make a great game better. there was a mod of some sort for quake1 that basicly added the doom3 style lighting efects and things of that nature. ran like a slide show on most comps when it came out.
