Just wondering... What or who is your passion? :bigear: Or, perhaps..what about your own art..? A few limited edition matted and remarqued prints. I have yet to get anything framed...
I've been up a lot lately. Sometimes I wonder if this lack of sleep in times of transition doesn't serve a purpose. I do some of my best thinking when I'm exhausted... Anyways, I decided to look up some of my favorite artists favorites. Came across this- http://www.zonezero.com/exposiciones/fotografos/witkin/jpwdefault.html Amazing reading, this. ^ (fairly short) I think it's actually helped me figure something out about my current conundrum...call it a life crisis, whatever. Anyways....I post and read in Random Thoughts a lot. I think I like it there because I like the fluidity.. Seeing the publics collective unconscious at work...If that sounds silly, I've been up wayyy too long. My point is, despite how I started the thread out, & the title..I'd actually like it if the topic could flow a bit....Don't be afraid to post your thoughts.
my way of looking at things, collecting is a con game; art, is something that you do. my own stuff, consider it 'copy left'! which means do whatever, other then claiming it as your own, or trying to make a buck off of it, as you see fit. down load it. put it in your screen saver. print it out and hand it on your wall. throw darts at it. whatever. my best and most recent stuff, it's all 'illustration' rather then "Art" (with the capital "A" bs) is on biorust. where i'm themnax, just like i am here. i've also got stuff, mostly older stuff, on vcl and elfwood, and a few other places here and there arround the net. and it's about trying to illustrate the kind of world i'd rather be living in. that's what motivates and inspires me to do it. and yes, i have some hanging on my own walls. and yes, everything i've got up on line so far was created entirely inside the computer. in the past with autocad r14.0, and now with blender 2.44 (and 2.41) =^^= .../\...
Hmmm... A con game? themnax, I'm not sure entirely what you mean where my own interest is concerned. The prints I have were not expensive & I do so much love the artists work. He also writes horror. I got them so I could read horror surrounded by dark art. My own work I actually torched years ago. I need to start again. But then I was reinventing myself at that time. I needed to let go of the past. I now have interest in new mediums.. Like carving. I'd love to be able to take a look at some of your work. Thanks for the reply.
well here's the first thing i didn't create on the computer i've managed to get into it. there's a bunch of links to the stuff i have MADE IN the computer in the thread on architecture.
Oh, that's just wonderful! ....Wish I were in the image in mind captured on paper..Going...Wherever! I just signed on, but I will look for that thread. Thankyou for sharing. The only surviving piece of my own art I have is tattooed onto my right shoulder.
Well, found 'em.. gave it a shot.. Some of them are no longer there, but the 1st & last link had lots to offer! Cool thread! -> http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=242183 well my favorite little house that's also up on biorust is in the thread djembe, in through the looking glass forum: a link there to some of what i'm talking about. (the flying concrete page, 5th post down -> http://hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214136&page=8&pp=10 ) then there's this one to my stuff on biorust. http://forums.biorust.com/photopost...00&ppuser=29730 <- unfortunately, page not found there's also my old page on elfwood is http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/j...l1/jteall1.html <-404 - PAGE NOT FOUND my picturetral page is http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery...46771&members=1 <- Sorry, invalid username entered. and my vcl page (most of it as old as what's on elfwood) is http://us.vclart.net/vcl/Artists/John-Teall/ <- This one is still up, & very, very cool! :H Thank you themnax, was nice to really SEE the train! -> http://us-p.vclart.net/vcl/Artists/John-Teall/L2-013.gif
i appologise for the links that didn't work. they work for me. i suppose because i'm me and cookied for those places. i wasn't awaire or able to tell that they wouldn't work for everyone. i tried to give the public entry points for those places, which i can assure you do exist. if anyone still wants to see what those links that didn't work for them point to, it is, of course possible, to go to those gallery's main entry points and look for my pages on them. =^^= .../\... "showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=29730" is what to put after the "photopost/" in the biorust link. i don't know where the truncation of the links came from but my guessing is it is why they didn't work. (as i was able to get to those places without logging into them without any problem) all were cut and paste from my browser's url window when i was there, again through what i thought were the public entry points. perhapse it is something in the reply script here that truncated them? the elfwood page is perhaps chached in some way no longer directly linked, but by going to the "j" page(s) on the member list, scrolling down to where "john teall" is listed and clicking on that, i THINK you can still get there. (though most of what is there is also on vcl, and mostly kind of grainy (and somewhat relatively low poly) besides, largely because of what and how i had to work with at the time) =^^= .../\...
When you draw or painty you do it from the heart. You just let your self go on the peace of paper. You can never be told what to draw you just do it for the fun but the dud off of heros rilly creeped me out and the pictures of the city blowing up was really awsome but sad.
I have collected bottle caps -not knowing what to do with them and this past year I have been using my glue gun on the sharp edges then pressing them on string and making a groovy 'bottlecap beaded curtian' out of them. Seems to be workking out so far so good*
