Anyone here still buy cd's? It's been along time since I've paid for one. I just get all my music digitally. I think this next x-mas season will probably be the last where cd's are a big gift.
I buy CD's, but I try to get them used if possible as it saves me a lot of money. Digitial music is ok for individual songs, but it still suffers from compression and the sound isn't quite as pristine as it is with compact disks. If I want to listen to a full album, I'd rather listen to it on CD or record.
i buy cds, mainly now i buy them from deja vu discs, they're cheaper and still awesome and i can find cds unavailable in other stores
Only directly from bands really i bought some used cd's a couple of years ago, those were the last in a store
I'll buy CD's by the bands I'm really into when they come out with a new album. I think of it as a way to support my favorite artists.
I pay for music online from bands I like. Although I will admit most of it is illegal. Matt's right about the sound not being quite up to par too. I've heard very good digital recordings, but a lot are sub par. I like supporting artists, but I'm not as big as supporting record labels.
I buy a lot of CDs, I usually only download if I have it already and lost it, or wore it out or if i can't get it anywhere else or to see if i like it, but i do buy most of the cds i download anyway
Sometimes when I type something in a thread then leave, it'll still show up with my last post in that bold like it's a new post. I don't want to read what I wrote. I find myself somewhat banal.
i never read what i type. i embarass me. however, sometimes i'll go back and read a series of posts and make me laugh. usually, though, i just think i'm a bonehead. yes, i buy whole albums on cd from time to time.
Hardly ever. I used to buy tons of CDs, but lately it's all pretty much torrents. Once and a while I'll buy one if I'm looking for something specific and I can't find it online or it's a random compilation or something. Also used CDs sometimes. :toetap:
now and then but with less frequency. if its on sale or something hard to find that i really really want (ie whore by dalbello) ill go buy it, but id rather buya used copy for cheaper if i can (assuming its even cheaper, which it isnt usually with our local stores). i love utorrent
Yeah I just bought Goat's Head Soup by The Rolling Stones, and Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits. I already had burned copies of these, but an actual CD sounds alot richer and deeper than a ripped copy. So I will continue to pay for music that I already own.
Nothing against Dire Straits. Walk of life was my favorite song when I was like 5. But old music is the last thing I'd pay money for. With good compresion and good encoding, the sound sounds as rich as anything but a live show.
I bought 3 albums today. Damian Marley, Reel Big Fish, and the new Smashing pumpkins. I'll by stuff from bands I really like, or something that I find online and like more than a handfull of their songs. I went in today for the new pumpkins and came out with the other two as well. Last time I went in for Slightly Stoopids new cd, and came out with 4 cds and Pink Floyd's PULSE DVD.
i don't happen to, or haven't. not because i have anything against doing so. just very limited resources and other and higher priorities for those that i do. i DO think the're WAAAAY over priced. most of them. the ones in stores. i would though, if i could, and i'd love to, by them directly off of band memebers at music festivals and such places and situations where this is possible. order them directly from the individual music group websites, that sort of thing. i have nothing against anyone making a living off their music, but feel very strongly that the music industry, the music exploitation as i see it industry, very signifigantly does NOT deserve my support. =^^= .../\...
I buy them used or from BMG when they have theire $1.99 deals. I usually get them in bulk from BMG haha! I have over $10,000 in music alone-that's what happens when you like every single kind of music there is-very expensive music interests haha
