Do you always prefer music while tripping?

Music is wonderful while tripping....

Off course sometimes silence is preferred (when I trip music is usually all the time on)... that could be cuz of different reasons... Sometimes silence "feels" more spiritual (maybe you want to trip like Terence suggests).... Or you want to concentrate on something... Or...

I experienced few different ways of perception of music while tripping:

- wounderfull, mystic, fractal, very important by itself alone, total concentration on it, surfing on sound....
- making whole experience better
- takeing some kind of discomfort away and like silence would induce bad feeling but usually silence pushes trip in different way but not bad way
- not needed
- and once on one weird trip it just sounded funny...

And another thing... How loud do you play it? Me usually at mid level... But last time I tripped it was on low or off cuz I was able to hear music of world (molecules spinning, plants singing...) and music from speakers wasn't really needed..

And do you carry your mp3 player or whatever when going outdoor.... I don't as everything happening outdoor is already overwhelming...

If I'm outside walking, riding a bike, or just sitting lost in thought I'd prefer to have silence.

Otherwise it really depends on if I want to hear music or not. Sometimes it can be amazing, but sometimes I get the urge to go do something else or listen the sounds of the world.

 

music is always welcome in my sensorium. usually the height of all my trips are when im listening to music alone (preferably in nature!). thats when things really go to that cosmic level.

 

The one time i tripped i didnt have any music until basically the end of my trip, my friend passed his ipod and i was excted as fuck....Hotel California and Us and them have never sounded the same since, it was really awesome and very personal trip, the music added the more personal level thing lol

But before that i was always tripping without music, usually in silence, id rather trip with music tho.
