my parents just got back from amsterdam (they went for valentines) and while they were there they bought me a hat with a leaf on the front. my dad used to be a policeman (yeeeeaaaaars ago) so understandably he is against any drug of any kind - including bud. my entire life he's told me never to do drugs. i've been smoking for about 3 years and they don't know that i smoke, i've never been caught and they've never said anything about it so i never told them. and then they get me this hat, and my stepmum says that it was HIS idea to get it lol! so now i'm totally confused, because for a while i thought they knew and just weren't saying anything about it, then i was sure they didn't know, and now i don't know what to think. so what do all you guys reckon?
me too...and i wouldnt be that worried about it... i think if they knew and were mad they wouldnt have brought u back anything

well i said thanks for the hat and he said 'yeh i thought you'd like that kind of thing' with a mysterious look in his eye lol. i think it might be his way of saying that he knows and it's ok, but i'm thinking of coming downstairs with a doob and saying 'see you in a bit i'm just going out for a smoke' just to test the water lol
haha...yeah i dont think all cops are against drugs for recreational use...just if it infringes upon their career....i agree with luminescent...they would have had fun in amsterdam...sounds like ya p's are way cool!
lol yeh they are. i said he's understandably against drugs cuz i know that he's seen the other side of it, the people whose lives have been royally fucked up by nasty drugs. i think this kinda made him group all drugs together, and where his kids are concerned i'm not gonna blame him
Really, my personal opinion would be that you shouldnt really give a fuck what they think. If they knew and were against it, dontcha think you would be in trouble? Dont think about it, it will drive you insane, the best thing to do is smoke some pot. Let it be one of those things that really isnt questioned but everyone knows.
It's not a good idea to "test the water" that way. Your father, as a police officer, was most likely trained to recognize people that are high and the smell of weed. I'm sure he knows that you smoke, but your attempt to keep it a secret shows him that you're at least trying to be responsible with it and not get busted. By "coming downstairs with a doob and saying 'see you in a bit i'm just going out for a smoke'" is showing him that you're going to be blatantly irresponsible and you don't care if the world knows. He will also view it as you saying to him "FUCK OFF, I'm an adult now, I'm going to do what I want". He will tell you that as long as you're living under his roof them you will follow his rules. If you do want to admit to your parents that you smoke then at least wait until you move out.
