do shaman's use marijuana?

Is marijuana ever used by shamans? I've heard of shamans using slavia divinorum or ayahuaska, but not marijuana. Is it ever used, and for what purpose?

 

Some hindu hermits drink it in the form of bhang, its actually quite popular too, they call it the drink of the gods or somthing.

they dont have rituals. They mediate and if they felt like drinking cannabis they will because thats what their true nature tells them too. Rituals are just a human aspic and the true nature of the mind is not very human at all because it is not effected by conditioning. P.S. Im high.

 

Its a good meditative help.


But personally, to a point into the high, I get into ego alot and cant get out until im sober. Not experienced enough already ;p

Yesters had a few bong rips and meditated on Jack Straw by Grateful Dead, lets say in the instrumental part the car did suddenly at times accelerate way too fast.

 

when i am high and meditate i loose my ego real fast and my body becomes one with the room. Its real hard to stay in that state for a duration of time since my ego is so strong to deeply analyze the situation from a distance.

 

yeah, I get there too...Not to the point of you know , when body and mind separates but to a nice expansion

I do catch my ego tryin to go blabla but with a little effort it shuts off. Takes practice to stay in this benefic state for long.
