SWIM purchased 4 oz (113 grams) of Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark. There are a few questions that SWIM needs to know about extraction. For the purpose of clarity SWIM will be replaced by I. 1. When its all said and done, how many grams of DMT will I expect from 113 grams of Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark. 2. Is it necessary to evaporate the naphtha by 50 percent before freezing it? Many other teks do not mention this step in the process. 3. Should separate pulls be placed in different jars instead of all into one jar? For example, mix, pull into jar, add naptha, mix pull into same jar, add naptha, mix, and pull into the same jar? 4. After freezing the naptha, should I expect crystals to formed and be attach to the bottom of the jar? 5. Then, the next step would be to drain the naptha through a coffee filter. Now, how do I dry the crystals before the left over naptha molecules re-saturate the crystals; resulting in sticky residue instead of hard crystals? I've done an extraction before and failed miserably. Crystals were forming but they were not attached to the bottom of the jar. They were just floating around. The freezer was turned up to the highest setting and the naptha was frozen for 24 hours. Maybe it was because I put all the naptha into one jar instead of separate jars? Or maybe because I didn't take my time? Any help would be appreciated.
i'd freeze the solution in a ziplock rather than a jar...that way, you can just poke a whole in the clear solution and pour the solution in a jar and you have the crystals...
Not necessary. You may get more out if you evaporate, but may not be as clean. Different pulls may have different qualities (purities). So, if you separate them you might get one batch that's really pure and another that's not so pure. It's up to you. No. They often (usually) don't. Pore the naptha with crystals floating in it through a coffee filter ASAP (so it's still very cold.) The crystals will be slightly wet with Naptha. Take filter and cut it so you can lay it open to dry with crystals on it. Some may be lost in paper, but not much. Using a smooth coffee filter may help. (Brown cone shaped filters seem to work well.) If all goes well, the coffee filter will have moist, hard crystals that just need to dry. If it's turning to mush, there is a problem. Maybe the naptha isn't draining through the filter fast enough because the filter is getting clogged or something.... Put the filter in a funnel in a cup and make sure it's out of the naptha settling in the cup. Once it's dry, you should be able to lightly scrape off the crystals without much effort.
