I'm really excited, I got my Diva Cup in the mail, and I'm really stoked about not creating all that waste in landfills anymore and not letting 'The Man' profit from my period!

    That's cool.

I use moonpads personally... I'll be honest diva cups don't really do it for me. I don't like any kind of insertion. I never liked tampons either.

I don't like pads; they feel like diapers and I don't like sitting in my own blood. Diva cups take some getting used to, but if you read the instructions and do it right, it works great and is very clean and freeing! And all it takes is washing it out real quick.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and finally order one of these...
Buying tampons every month is annoying.

Has anyone tried both the diva cup and moon cup? any differences?
I'm not sure which I should order.

And tampons and pads fill up landfills, and it takes them forever to biodegrade..... plus they're full of bleach and bad chemicals that cause TSS, and I don't think you can get TSS from the diva cup.
It'll pay for itself in time too.

The feeling of pads has never bothered me, especially the soft cotton moonpads. Just personal taste... Diva cups are horribly uncomfortable to me.

I find diva cups are like tampons; if it's uncomfortable, it wasn't inserted correctly.

diva cup is kind of gross dont you think?
but then again, the whole monthly process seems a little gross.

    best of luck though!

Aren't you a guy? If so anything that comes out of you is far grosser than period blood.

gross? what's gross about it? It's natural. If anything, many years ago men feared women for their power to bleed without dying and give life.
There is nothing gross about the monthly process. it's beautiful. It's our patriarchal society that has brainwashed you into believing otherwise. It's so much easier to dismiss things you don't understand as "gross" rather than try to learn about it. That's what society has tried to do for thousands of years; convince people that women are gross, dirty, and subhuman, when in fact if anything, we're the first and superior sex.

Definitely. They've got a sad case of vulva envy I'm afraid. they can't help it though; you really have to feel sorry for them with their Y chromosome and all.

Guys seem to like pretending that they were never REALLY up-close and personal with the inside of their mother's vagina. ;)

    Reproduction is a natural thing.

    From a Peter Gabriel song;
“Out of the Woman Comes the Man, Spends the Rest of His Life Getting Back When he Can”

I think you'd enjoy reading The First Sex by Elizabeth Gould Davis

I tried a diva cup years ago and it didn't work for me. I might try it again. I'm breastfeeding now and on the mini pill so I haven't had a period in ages. I actually miss my period, I always felt like the menstrual cycle is very cleansing

Women's vaginas are different and unique so what is comfortable to one is not necessarily going to be comfortable to another.

Yeah, I find it cleansing as well. I mean, I am always in horrible pain during it but I feel kind of rejuvenated at the end.
