It's been one week, so I thought I'd post a couple update pictures. Next update will probably be at the one month mark, since you guys don't really seem to like a lot of updates. My comments/issues with them right now: the back is still a bit shitty and loose because I did it by myself, but I'm pretty sure that'll resolve itself with time. the thing that has me a bit more worried (but not really) is that for some of them, they're split into like 2 sections almost at the root, but at the tip they're joined together, and I almost feel like should be 2 dreads but I'm not going to try to rip them apart. Front: Back:
the splitting at the roots is normal. A few of mine didn't that but over a few weeks they joined back up. How did ya parents go with the whole dread thing?
wow, worst abbreviation. Nevertheless according to urban dictionary guize means The term used for a cool person or a group of friends that hang out together so thats chill
I think the back looks good. Is that one always dangling infront of your face? cuz that may piss you off in the future when they tighten and you can't flip it back as easy. I like your pink shutters.
the back might fall out a little more because it's shorter. mine did anyway good start, keep us updated!
Yup, my entire back fell out and I'm stilli n the process of dreading it. I only have half of the underneath done now but it seems to be holding and finally long enough. Looks like the puffiness has gone down a lot.
Yeah, they're a lot less puffy, which is awesome. That one in my face I can usually manage to keep out of the way. I'm kinda hoping that once it gets longer and tightens up it'll be easier to deal with, but that might actually be the opposite, in which case I'll prob let it congo into the one next to it. Lol about the pink shutters - I was wondering if anyone would notice.
So just to clarify this for me, no matter how tempting it is, I shouldn't re-twist and rip stuff as it comes undone, right?
you'll probably just hinder its own growth, its tempting to quick fix but your best off not wasting your time
I had a friend today tell me that my dreads were coming undone, it was kinda depressing. I tried to explain to him that dreads take time, and that that's part of it, but it was tough. But yeah, pretty much the whole back has come undone, it kinda blows. I guess from now on it pretty much is the same as the neglect method, for the back at least.
well in the beginning you shouldnt wash your hair too frequently. maybe like once every 4-5 days for the first month. after that you can wash as often as you please.
I actually am curious about this though. If a section comes completely undone, like it's not knotted at all, wouldn't it make sense to re section it off and twist and rip some new ones in, but try to do a better job this time?
are you meaning like.. a bunch that came undone or just one? either way yeah you could do that for sure, or you could leave it and see what happens.. It would be kind of like those surprise bags you got as a child that had random candies and toys in them.. though the idea of buying a surprise bag was always more exciting then the actual surprise... The toys were usually lame and the candies were stale/ cheap:driving: erm.. yeah
Lol, funny image for some reason. that could be the weed talking though. But yeah, below like a certain line on the back of my head, they all came undone.
