Seems its active today good luck if you to ya getting a job at Hooters if your not attractive, nice chested girl, good luck getting into a professional field being pregnant, good luck getting hired in most up fron fields with long hair and being a guy. Seems being ugly, fat, current medical condition, even sometime gender can be legally discriminated against for employment.
Been that way long as I've been working and long before. Ya forgot age/ Nationality/ being a WASP male... but ya did get the long hair. *L*
Hooters bases its entire image on the attractiveness of thier servers. If unatrractive people worked there, the ywould go bankrupt. No one wants to be waited on by an unnatractive person in any restaurant... a restaurant needs to uphold quality in many areas, including its presentation or it will go out of buisness. If you really want to support the unnatractive food-server, then eat more Waffle House.
Word man. Boobs arne't everything. WHen I was in high school, I used to hang out with older folks, and I knew this girl that was a stripper, and her breasts didn't excactly stick out of her shirt, but she was so hot. She had the prettiest brown eyes I've ever seen.
So if it is so easy for people to accept appearance as an acceptable form of discrimination and the sex of the worker then why stop there. I mean maybe a person desires an upscale place place to live and thinks that the color of a persons skin is not what they believe acceptable for the area and might lower the value of the homes if others believe the same, or why let woman work on cars or other manly jobs as most dont believe woman can do that kind of work, why let men watch kids, why let a teenager run a company or an old person start a new career ect? I mean if we accept any form of discrimination as legal and okay then instead of the law deciding what is right maybe we all can decide to not hire/rent to/sell to/ serve/educate ect cripples, japs, fats, blacks, asians, jews, poles, nazis, women, guys, gays, straights, short people, flat chested girls, scrawney guys, people with acme, long hair, ect?
True If my objective is to eat I want to be served by a competent wait person. LOL There is alot of truth there. If given a choice- all other factors being equal I would prefer the good looking server... although there's alot to consider which will figure into my tip. Level of service- did my order arrive correctly and within a reasonable time- taking into consideration how busy the server is. Did I become the invisible customer awaiting the check? How long did I have to await a water refill? How did the waiter/waitress handle him or herself while dealing with my party? When I go out to eat I'm prepared to spend money above and beyond the value of the food. The rest is for service.
Servers love me, I tip at least 25%, normally at a truck stop food and tea runs around $13.00, I will leave at least $3.00 but if they are even close to good and dont call be sweety and honey I will leave the change from a $20.00 and at Christmas if Im on the road they are working I will leave $50.00 for them as I appreciate a person making a scarafice for me to have a warm meal and not so lonely out there.
Everything u said is true, except for the part about men with long hair. People that have long hair work at all kinds of places. What the shit are u talkin about?
True... but it's perfectly legal- and in some places actually encouraged to require males to have short hair in order to land/keep a job. Alot depends on the availability of labor. If good hires are hard to come by then rules tend to be more lax.
I am not saying that it is right, I am saying it is the way it works. I would love for the world to change to a world in which every single person has an equal opportunity, but that is not the way the world is. All of what you say is true, society descriminates against all of those people. One must study people and learn to understand how and why they discriminate in order to fight this discrimination. I would love to see a fat, ugly, gay, crippled jewish man with acne working in Hooters, yet it will never happen. It saddens me that people get so many more opportunities in society just because of good looks, but that is one of the lovely "advantages" of your American capitalism.
True but there are more places we're not welcomed. ie: I couldn't work again at some of my former 'short haired' white collared jobs even though I was hired for the gray n white tween the ears...
Yes, but sadly people base thier selection on the attractive server, that is what they see first... and not the quality of the service.
In general yes but I would get just as irritated if a shapely set of boobs gave me shitty service. Consider me an exception.
