I don't know if the public knows this. But discrimination against the mentally ill is what sometimes leads to violence. I'm not exaggerating in the least.

I heard of a woman in a college. Her professor thought he was doing the right thing by kicking her out of his class. He wouldn't even return her phone calls at one point. Then the stigma takes over. They can't afford medical treatment because they have no job, so they stop taking their medicine. Or they don't want to take it because of the stigma associated with being labeled that way.

And in the case of the college woman, being marginalize like that (not just being angry) literally, literally led to her doing an act of violence. I'm serious.

Treating mental illness, first with anti depressants and then with tranquilisers, some of which are powerful enough to knock a horse out, has fairly obvious consequences.

Abnormal behaviour in childhood is frequently misdiagnosed as mental illness, in this situation adding medication leads to a path that is downhill only.
Most childhood abnormalities are caused by the environment around them. Battling those demons is equally stupid, you simply need to understand them. If not, your brain will be in double turmoil.

If we receive a serious cut, we need medical intervention before all our blood ends up on the floor, although by forming platelets, our body plugs the leak allowing coagulation, a little help goes a long way and may avoid an amputation.
If you break your leg, splints and crutches will align everything, preventing you spending the rest of your life with a deformer limb.

    BUT.
The stitches come out, the plaster comes off an you bin the crutches, all within 6 to 8 weeks.
Mental conditions should be viewed in exactly the same way. But the timeline may be slightly longer. Longer still, if it follows botched attempts by doctors not qualified in Neurology.

If anyone reading this post chooses to follow my advice, please read my last two lines very carefully.
Never Ever. stop taking medication prescribed by your consultant following cardio thoracic, cardio vascular or neurosurgery. Without the anticoagulant content of this medication, you may feel better, BUT YOU WILL DIE.

    Finally.
Whatever you do, keep your brain in gear.
