Hey everyone, I wanted some ways of discreet drying and curing. Is there any way you could do it outside? Like in a shed (Mould Though? ) I can't dry them indoors as I'm not..Alone in my house. Any other ways? Possibly keeping the odour to a minimum if indoors, outside- doesn’t really matter. The growing is all planned out, just the curing and drying.
i used my grow cab with the with the same exhaust + filter but dont know if you can do this? If your doing it outside it should be above peoples nose hight. I.E if you did it in a well ventellated loft space or somthing? but then thats not exactly dryin it out doors. curing though Air tight jars in a dark cool garden shed shouldnt be a problem?
This method is pretty pimpy but works. The ole paper method. Loosely fill the bag ~ 1/4 full of buds, fold the top over but let the fold lift a bit so air can escape. Assuming you are 44 and have an old lady like mine you can have it sit in the garage and she will never notice. Just be careful and keep an eye on them. Good ole RangerDanger had a good thread on it somewhere here. You may want to run a search for it.
It might work but it would take alot of desiccant plus you really do not want to dry it too much. Not sure of the cost. The rule of thumb is it is dry when the stem makes a **snap**. You will see bend, bend, bend then a lil crack! It is at this point that the curing process can take the remaining moisture and evenually distribute and finalize the drying of the sweet tastey herb. I have seen a homemade drying box made from cardboard. Three layers of nylon mesh for holding the buds. Small holes were made on one side even with each layer of mesh and a couple of PC fans on the other side (intake or exhaust? I forgot to ask). With the top on it was sealed and drew air in and out while eliminating light. A tupperware box could probably be used instead (longer life).
Sounds like you don't have a garage, which would be best. I don't see any problems using the shed; most aren't usually very airtight. Use the paper bag method mentioned in post #3, it's an oldy but goody. There's a long sticky thread in curing (thanks, Ranger) which elaborates on paper bag curing, but it's really pretty idiot proof.
Thanks guys, I liked the thought of desiccant Lol. I'll have a little look around at some old posts and google. Do you know what the temp for drying is? I thought it was about 17c?
