pretty cool. this old bugger she chats with is making her a custom long bow .

everything will be made by hand including the arrows and bow string..

he has been sending us pictures of the process.

its truly going to be a work of art. i told her we will make a album of the pictures of the process and just put it up on the gun rack with the album as a conversation piece..

im sure she will shoot it every now and then, but i aint gonna let her use the hand made arrows..lol

yeah i havent touched one since i was a kid. i use a compound bow..

my brother in law uses one. its all this old bugger hunts with. he even bear hunts with one.. that takes balls..

 

I use a compound still, as well. I have thought about stepping it up to traditional but dayum. Congrats on the bow. Whats it settin you back?

I don't have a long bow yet, it's next on the list though. I shoot my recurve pretty frequently though. I also like to play around with my compound a bit, and if I'm feeling lazy I will pull the crossbow out. I call the crossbow lazy because it has a nice laser sight, and takes no real skill to shoot, I can hit a bullseye from 55 yards without much thought.

if you paid any attention to my posts since ive been unemployed youd know i have actually been saving money on those little checks.. yes thats right, when everythings paid for and ya grow all your own food its possible..

The thing is, I often don't pay attention to your posts, mostly because the grammar is so horrible I have to read and re-read it several times over before I get the gist of things. Unless I have a lot of free time, it's just not worth it. I had a compound bow. And had a long bow when I was a kid, although it was kinda poorly made, I've always wanted to shoot a quality long bow.
