different kinds of stoners...

well although its hard to shove them into two categories, i've noticed a basic trend in stoner aditudes, no matter what their fashion or race or music choices reflect. theres the ghetto stoner, who i fear many of my friends are. they dont exactly prescribe to the peace and love scene and have no trouble ripping you off or something like that, they just want money and drugs. the other side of the spectrum is the hippie stoner, which i consider myself part of. overall we're against stealing weed, we wanna make square deals with people considering drugs, and are often more concerned with mind expansion and creative process than just "killing the pain".

i fear i'm the only hippiesh stoner i know, as all my buddies have either stolen a bud or two from me or talk of doing it from others, and also ive had to hassle when it comes to getting drugs from them. and dont even try shared smokeouts.

has anyone else noticed these two different trends? i'm really sober so what i write may not make sense...

 

I can relate to that. I dont know if I'd call em a hippy just cuz they dont steal bud but still i think i catch you drift.

 

yeah maybe hippy wasnt the right word but you get it. old schoolish smokers against the ghetto smokers. sigh i feel the drug scene is so shitty today.

Ive noticed there are some asshole smokers. I was going to buy shrooms from his new kid at school, and when i couldnt get the money he says to me in an annoyed tone "Okay, ill just sell them to someone else then..." and he rolled his eyes at me. Later that year, i was at a party with him, and instead of having fun like everyone else, he walked around the house the whole time peddling his bag of weed. Who goes to a party and just sells pot? Further more, the kid whos party it was had his tv stolen, and a lot of people suspect it was this kid and his brother who stole it. Hes a low life.

I would catagorize him as the thug stoner...those who think jay and silent bob are the shit, and are generally assholes.

On the other side of the spectrum are the kind, frisbee golf and pool playing crowd, which i find much more inviting.

 

i know what u mean i dont what to rip people off but a lot of my friends brag about when they rip off freshmen also i have no problem smoking out a friend if he is out but i expect him to return the favor

 

uhh i actually have friends who think im retarded or somthing but there jerk offs whjo listent o rap.. 4 of them threw down 5 bucks each bought a gram i threw down 20 for a gram they said we role a 1 gram blunt u role a 1 gram blunt... do they think im dumb? they each payed 5 buckls to get high and im paying 20?!?!? are u fucking kidding me.. 1 of those kids stole 14 grams of regs off me also when i left him in my room alone.. im the type of kid who trusts everyone... beacuse i like to think they can trust me... im a really mellow guy recently im smoking w/ 1 kid whos awesome, he plays guitar and whenevr he has dank or somthign he smokes me up, i return the favor, we bothj love beatles/dylan, hendrix, floyd etc.. hes really into music.. anyways i finally found a friend i can trust completely... ugh 1 time i left 20 bucks in my center counsil thing, let my friend sit in my car for like 3 min while i ran into my house came back i drove him home later that night i noticed my $20 bucks was gone.. what a scum bag... i was gona buy a gram w/ that money and smoke him up to... what a jerk off... but im glad i found the 1 friend who i can trust.

 

this is how i cattergorize it:

Dirts with no money - People who have little to no money, and do stupid things to earn or get money or scratch enough together to buy small amounts and do not have any sense of Value ie. to them buying 10 individual Grams over 2 weeks makes more sense to them then buying a half etc. As well, these people have no money to entertainment to them is Vandalism, loitering, causing trouble for others because they are too broke, or too lazy to work so they have a "Dirt" Mentality"

and then there are

People with money - these ppl will buy a sack and share their weed, not concerned with ever being paied back, receive money for smoking somone up, and will usually smoke to enhance somthing ie. a movie, sport etc. these people are the upper class of smokers, and pretty much the only type i would want to hang around

but ya anyways i wouldnt classify myslef as a hippy stoner but im sure as hell not a "thug" stoner, ya i listen to rap(expecially tupac) and if any1 knew who he was he was a very good rapper who enjoyed weed for the mind expansion and just is a good man.. well anyways i use to rip people off when i was desperate...but trust me after a few times i got ripped off i just couldnt do it to any1 else cuz i knew what it felt like, but anyways ya my friends i guess are alright, but some are scavenger smokers which i just hate.. but yet again i feel bad cuz there usually poor and cant afford weed so i enjoy smoking them up, but they i dont think would steal my weed. ya and like u marijuanaphysics i am the type who trusts everyone which i think isnt a good idea in this time of age, thats just the way it is man. but ya i dont really know what kind of smoker i am i think im just my own personality smoker.

 

Well, I'm just gonna generalize and say there are two categories/pretty much stereotypes. . . . (hides head in sand)

1) People who get high to fuck themselves up and because they think it's cool and it feels good. Some wear all black and eyeliner and listen to death metal, some dress like wiggers and listen to rap. In my experience, they're not as friendly or peace-loving. In fact, they try to be scary.
2) To generalize again, the hippies, of course. Most smoke not only because it feels good but also for enlightenment and peace, as cliche as that inevitably sounds.

Obviously there are variations on this pattern . . . I'm sure there are a handful of ghetto hippies out there, but it's not common.

 

well see here, the dirt stoners piss me off lots, cause they mostly live on the east side of town were the poor people mostly live..lol thats were most of the black population lives in my town...but dont get me started on them in my town cause they dont even know whats going on. but ya ive been ripped off 350$ so ill never rip ne one off.

i would consider myself a hippy stoner cause i like to have to sum fun, and today ultimate frisbee was super tire me out man.lol

im tottally the hippy stoner who is nice to everyone in school. Never put anyone down, and i never say anything negative. im about positive vibes and such.

 

i started acting nice once i became an atheist and realized life is to precious to be putting people down and being angry and mean at people, weed helped also... i never get angry, not even when my buddy dropped my first bowl!! i was like aww man.. w/e its cool man u dropped it on accident dont worry about it.. and tried to stay positive but anyone else i know would be like "YOU FUCKING DUMBASS IM GONNA TELL EVERYONE AT SCHOOL HOW MUCH OF A DUMBASS U ARE!".. anyways the song by john lennon imagine explians what i bealive pretty much, even though i know hes not talking about atheism what he says makes perfectly logical since..and i agree 100% w/ him. u all schould lsiten to that song and think about it.

I dont agree with the people that have money are the 'nice' smokers... I scape together money and always by moderatly small amounts at a time... Any one that is sitting in the lounge room of my place is welcome to a bowl or two. I do find that some people bum off me and its usually people that have enough money to by their own or chip in. This is kinda the same around my friends.

This theory is supported by my experience in a call centre ringing people for charity... I knew straight away whether I had a chance by the suburb that came up... all the rich suburbs of sydney, people would be rude and arrogant. It was always the people that seemed to have little money that would give.

 

I hear what you're saying. Probably the majority of stoners I know are your "ghetto" type. Some straight up act like they're living the thug life (none really are, aside from some petty crime and the occasional fight. They're mainly just posers). I don't think I know any really "hippie" stoners though (besides sorta myself). There's your ghetto ones, and then just your average kid who also loves smoking weed. It's sad that I don't see much shift towards the mind expansion and peace attitude. It's either you're into crime and violence, or you're just ambivalant about it.
