hey, so i dont do yoga, i eat meat, dont really smoke the ganj but like the beer. i like punk/classic rock and grunge. got long hair, been to 40 states so far, love the ocean but dont swim in it. (its to be respected and feared. i almost got my leg bit by a shark once lol) hate cold weather but adore its beauty. (grew up in MI) used to live in the mendocino headlands, goldengate park, my old car, and couch surfed. i make hemp necklaces n stuff i sell on the beach here in florida.

what about you guys? stereotypes suck man. oh and the last earthdance in laytonville,ca was awesome man. slid down a mountain/hill thing on my old guitar being chased by 2 dogs trying to sneak in lol

Well Slappy. I'm not sure how old you are but you sound like a youngin. Granted, I'm only about 35. My parents were back to the land ers. I grew up loving their music. When I hit my teen years I also loved The Sex Pistols, The Dead Kennedy's and Heavy Metal. Then even later came to love Miles Davis, Coltrane, and Mid 70's fusion.

Wow, some are being pretty harsh based only on label. If one can’t find a way of “working together” with true Hipppies, then there really is a problem. As long as one is able to accept and operate by core principles of peace and love, hippie works.
Peace=An avoidance of all forms of interpersonal conflict. Tolerance, acceptance and dismissive of any preconceived ideas of what another person is “supposed” to be like.
Love=An outgoing concern for the happiness and well being of others.

Everything else is just symbols and accessories. The stereotype of “punk” is just another expression of a rejection of societies precepts. However, if one can learn and live by “Peace” and “Love”, there is no reason to reject the persons growth toward Hippie.

Dude, Punk Rockers existed in the '70s and '80. If you are not taiking about them as Punks, then I have no idea who you are trying to talk about.

Unless you are trying to refer to todays fad trend fake punks. Maybe you're talking abut people who aren't punks, and you are just using that name. Do they bleed, slamming in mosh pits? Do they only ware black steel-toed boots for kicking the crap out of each other? Do they have a violent "Road Warrior II" / (Mad Max 2) trip going on?
