I smoked weed before I smoked cigarettes, but still the two are entirely unrelated.

yeh its possible to get addicted if you mix it with your weed. but getting addicted to nicotine is weak unless youre smoking many cigarettes a day, in my oppinion

Not me. Every once in a while I mix a little tobacco in with my weed, but it's just because I'm usually short on bud. If I get a summer job I'll be staying away from that gross tobacco.

well if nobodys died from marijuana then I geuss nobody got lung cancer strictly related to it. and the carcinogens and all that other shit jus contributes to lung cancer in ciggerrettes, I read on erowid the fertilizer they use to get it to grow good evaporites radioactive particles that bind to the tobbacco leaves, so in my guess id say radiation would be what causes lung cancer, all the other shit in it jus provokes it to start sooner. But then again you could get lung cancer from smoking weed, if you smoked about 50-100 joints a day your whole life.

I don't think anyone will argue about the fact that inhaling smoke isn't healthy, but they've shown there's no link between marijuana smoking and lung cancer, and it's possible marijuana may act as an anti-cancer agent.

No body died from marijuana OVERDOSE which doesnt mean nobody died from lung cancer realted to marijuaana smoking...
actually smoking does not cause lung cancer itself, it just increases the probabilities of getting cancer, so IMO any form of smoking is harmful.

Yeah, I did get hooked on nicotine after I start smoking joints. When I was at places where I couldn't toke, I started to smoke ciggies. Did that for 7 years and now I'm quitting the cigarettes. I still get nicotine from my joints though. :)

Actually, weed has been proven to KILL cancer cells and people who have smoked weed for decades have been proven to be at no more risk of getting cancer than people who have never smoked anything in their lives, so your post is wrong on all accounts.

    Smoke on, my fellow stoners:spliff:

Actually both sides of the arguement are flawed because they both have proof that contridict each other thus leading to an unconclusive answer. Dr Marinel Ammenheuser and her colleagues at the University of Texas Medical Branch discovered evidence that cannabis smoking causes the same kind of damage to DNA as tobacco. They found that marijuana smokers had three times as many DNA damaged cells as the non-smokers. Similarly Dr Michael Roth discovered evidence that THC, the psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, may promote a carcinogenic effect.

This would seem to be in direct contradiction to the findings of Dr Louis Harris from the Medical College of Virginia though, who discovered that delta-8 THC, delta-9 THC and cannabinol (all components of THC) are quite active as anti-cancer agents.

Some people claim tobacco doesn't cause cancer either and that in fact the phosphates used in the fertilisers are rich in radium 226 which breaks down into two daughter elements: lead 210 and polonium 210, which each have a huge half life (they stay toxic for a very long time). These radioactive articles become airborne, and attach themselves to the fine hairs on tobacco leaves and that it is these radioactive elements within the chemical fertilisers used on tobacco plants that causes cancer.

Without any conclusive proof on either side of the argument, a solid conclusion cannot be made but I think we can all agree that smoking anything is not good for you and even if it does not cause cancer it can cause other dieases like TB.

As a pot smoker I hope that it is proved to be a prevention to cancer but only time will tell!
