Mentioned in the petition is the accusation of the members of Behemoth (including Nergal) of raping a drunk woman (a fan apparently) while on tour with Khold in Spain in 2001. According to this Polish news website article, Nergal justifies himself and the band that it was not rape – or at least in his eyes. He claims that “rock ‘n’ roll is a fun game, often dangerous and risky”. He goes on: “Something that may be something horrible and amoral to you, for me is an emanation of Dionysian attitudes and ecstatic elevation or just pure hedonism with a hint of perversion."

It really seems like that quote is being taken from another context..

Either it's from another context, or that is the lamest excuse for rape I have ever heard.

I would not be surprised if they did. Black metal is not a nice type of music and the people who play it have a very Darwinian attitude towered others. The satanist will not help the weak, if the person is weak he deserves to be taken advantage of by the strong. So if one wants to rape it is the victim's fault for being too weak to stop it. I am sure this band would proudly proclaim itself as satanist as most black metal acts do.

Any black metal fan is familer with Mayhem I am sure. Look at that band as an example of what type of behavior sells records with the murder and outspoken hatred. If you are not this way fans do not respect you as being "metal enough". Rape is par for the course.

No, most of them aren't Satanists, but a lot of them are idiots.

I believe the quote to be true, Nergal likes his Dionysian speeches and the Polish media will do anything to portray Behemoth as evil. They literally hate them.
I've seen Behemoth twice, when I met them last year they did not gang rape me if that helps.

God.. Modern metal is full of untalented pussies. Those guys wear more makeup than a support group for teenaged rosacea sufferers..

They sound like pots and pans falling down a set of stairs, except not in key.

They dress for theatrics, they put on an awesome live show.
Sometimes 4 dudes playing their instruments just isn't enough, a performance is what they offer, not just a gig.

And that's just a photo shoot photo for Terrorizer or metalmag or something, they aren't like that on stage. I think it's just white face paint but then who knows in the dark and the lights >.<
