device that can block digital video cameras from working in a specific area

    Who wants to bet that this technology will be used whenever the riot gear is brought out, or whenever the State wants to keep prying media eyes away...

    they have to see the camera first. anyone with a high powered torch can do this already

    i believe some movie theaters have something like this in place already, keeps people from making bootlegg copys.

    as i understand it movie theatres pulse an infra red light not seen by the human eye onto cinema screens to interupt video cameras, this light is picked up by the video camera and appears as an annoying flashing on the recording.
