    Would that not be better to leave life-saving to Paramedics, Nurses, Doctors and other medical staff and spend the money on crime prevention ???

    The $1,000 payments will be doled out to every first responder who continued their work through the coronavirus pandemic — including firefighters, EMTs and the aforementioned police — in a one-time payment.

    Not that the police don't deserve it, but he's spinning it like "Ladies and gentlemen, the police are our American heroes". Anglo/Euro-centric philosophy on steroids will not get you anywhere in politics now.
