metabolites, grrr! i took demerol all day yesterday. i had dental surgery and was in a lot of pain. anyways, it worked on the pain, but it's such a dirty drug. freaking metabolites. i'm still itchy. my skin is still trying to detox the metabolites, and i'm sooooooo freaking itchy. benadryl doesnt touch it. next time i'm in that much pain, i'm going to an acupunturist. i tried using acupressure points, but just wasnt able to apply pressure to them for hours on end. cheers!
wtf... i remember when i was prescribed it... demerol is the best fuckin opiate out there... Okay well atleast it's better than oxy and most people do oxy over all others... I don't know about morphines, codeines, fents, or even h cuz i've never done em..
Most people say that its not ment to take oral but to IV, if your a abuser. But I wouldnt IV blah, okay... maybe sometime heh.
HAHAHA well then fly, they are right! not that i shot myself up, but i remember when i was in a hospital they'd be like "hey we're ready to give you your next demerol dose" and i was soooo happy... Ok this is what it was like 12:00 pm - demerol goes through the iv 12:03 - hitting me harder and harder by the second 12:05 - So fucked up! 12:20 - passed out That shit was amazing in the iv... the pill form was good too, but definately not as strong.
Dem is one of the opiates with a "dirty profile" meaning a lot of side effects, problems with respiratory problems, histamine release, nauea ect. If you have a choice, morphine, oxycodone, even codine or hydrocodone or fentanyl are better. One of the worst drugs to use during labor or in an epidural because of the effects on the baby's respiratory functions. Good doctors never use it in OB anymore (although it is OK, postpartum, as none of the narcotics get into the milk in any way to cause problems.) Next time, if there is one, ask for Oxycodone or morph, if you feel comfortable doing so.
yeah, i'd much rather have morphine, but at the time i was in so much pain, i didnt care what they gave me. didnt want to look like a drug seeker and have the doc not give me anything, y'know.
