Have you ever put a pickle in your Christmas tree?

I have never ever heard of this crazy tradition until just last night.

It's totally weird. You are a hopeless freak and should not be around civilized people ever. You should probably ring a bell as you walk around and yell "Outcast unclean!" so that people know to stay well away from you.

the pickle and the christmas tree - i think its a tradition of german origin.

for reasons i dont know, you use a pickle shaped ornament. dont ask why cause i've got no clue, but its gotta be a pickle.

the parents buy one small extra present that any of the kids would enjoy and wrap it, and it becomes the pickle present.

then, after all the other presents are opened on christmas morning, the kids are told to leave the room and the parents do their best to hide the pickle ornament among all the others. the child who finds it first gets the extra present. :)
