I am getting 2 Degus from new jersey this week sometime. my friend is going to pick them up an drive them up here. In case you didn't know, Degus are kinda like chinchillas, but look like gigantic gerbils. They dont' bite or smell, and need lots of attention like prairie dogs. I'm very excited to extend my family (my betta fish, two bamboo plants, and my beloved 'ruby' plant) to these guys. Please wikipedia or google Degus and check out how awesome they are. well the degu ended up not working out due to transportation issues. but on the flip side, i got an awesome chinchilla with cage and accessories for 50 bucks! i figured i'd stay in the 'family' and get something related to a degu, and chinchillas are pretty popular household pets. Newly renamed Bubbles was an unwanted pet, who happened to live 2 blocks from my house! Hes an awesome 2 1/2 year old chinchilla who is totally chill. He likes to be held, and is very curious. Right now he is taking his sand bath. Pics to come!
