i hate that resiny smell you get when you havent kept your pipe clean enough, and I was wondering if boiling a glass bubbler is a good idea. and if so, how do I do this without hurting my sweet little pipe? (detailed instructions please, this is my first bubbler and favourite piece)

It's gross, i can see little balls of resin in the bottom, from the last time I rinsed it...i gotta get those out! Help! :)

    Thanks tokers :)

It's not the best idea...The best thing to really clean it spotless without running any chance of breaking it is to have it soak in warm, almost hot water for a short while (this alone will detach some of the stuck on resin) and then place the bubbler in a ziploc bag, fill it about half with rubbing alcohol and some salt (to act as an abrasive), close and shake it around to really get it cleaned out. Then just rinse it all with some water to make sure there isn't any alcohol left over.

ehh no..alcahol i believe will disolve the bag use a glass jar soak in alcahol overnight ..rince

the resin is not the problem though water is
water + resin gives u that nasty gunky smelly crap

pipes without water u can completely fill with resin and never get thaty nastyness
ive had pipes for 10 years that were never clkeaned and when broken had probly an ounce of tight packed resin..without that almost moldy smell u get from water

If its all glass boil in it water. I do it ALL the time with my pipe. Glass wont melt in boiling water. So get a pot you dont use for food, boil your pipe for about 10-15 minutes, itll come out SO clean, and then just get something to stick in it to pull the extra stuff out, Trust me it will look brand new!

i find that several fill the piece with about a tsp of salt, then some rubbing alcohol. hold/plug all orifaces, shake vigorously for a while. empty it and repeat until totally clean. this way is fast, effective, and doesnt use too much rubbing alochol.
an ounce of resin? how big of a piece are we talkin here?

Thanks for the tips guys :) I had just been filling it with hot soapy water, pluggin all the holes with my fingers and shaking... which produced this big chunk of resin in the bottom of the bubbler. So that's what I'm trying to break up safely!
