hey guys, well i'm starting to decorate my room in my halls now finally, so i'm thinking of some ideas and some trippy stuff.

I dont have too much money and my arts not very good but i do like making little things.

So far i've thought of a blacklight and poster (very original i know) and some LED candle lights
and just some lighting, but anyone have some ideas on lighting?

Also; i've got some broken blank cds up on my wall to defract light, which i think is pretty cool, know it's not much but watching colours change as i move about the room is pretty fun to play with.

Any one suggest anything or places to go?

I can't paint my walls as it's uni accomodation. But i think putting stuff up is alright, thought of some trippy mirrors but not sure where i can find any. Basicly just little things, i thought of having loads of cushions up next to my bed for lounging in but that may be expensive. i've got about a 2.5metresx1.5 metre floor space to play with and a decent amount of wall space, but i dont want to over clutter just stuff to make my room a bit more homely and a little trippy.

I know this question must come up every other day but thanks for any advice :)

When I go next year, I plan to hang lots of sari fabric on my walls in rainbow colours. You can get this cheap if you find an indian fabric shop. Your room sounds really cool, though. What about fairy lights? Oh, and glow in the dark stars!

I have been traveling in Laos and also seen painting from local people. Their painting represents their traditional living style which is so charming. I love Nature and want to close to nature. When I came back to my country, searched internet and bought from this shop has this kind of beautiful nature painting. Exactly what I wanted. You can take a look. Hopefully, you would be interested and give you an idea to decorate your room. ;-)

hang some tie-die shawls on your wall

smash a mirror into a thousand peices and glue the pieces on a wall (or in your case on a board you can put somewhere nice.

Fiber optic lamps are cool. Tie dye tapestries, Mexican falsa blankets, if you like you can get things such as Buddha or Ganesha posters. Crystal obelisks are a funky touch. Tribal art masks, and cool things that can be picked up at yard sales, or even by looking at stuff people have thrown away. Old bottles with candles stuck in the top of them are pretty cool. The main thing is to be creative, go with what you're comfortable with, read up on styles and alter them with your own tastes. Have fun and maybe even get a friend to help.
