I'm reading this Book called "the haunted" Its a true story written on the testimony of 28 witnesses, experts, priests and i think some more people. Its about a really bad haunting. Janet and Jack smurl (somewhere in the states) lived in a duplex and started having problems with ghosts. they would later find out that it was 3 spirits and a deamon. there were lots of little things like lights going on and off etc.. then it got really bad for example: a light fixture came down and almost killed one of the daughters right before she was leaving for her confirmation, The husband was actually raped by what is reffered to as a 'succubus', the dog gets beaten up (i think killed but i'm only half way through the book). anyways there are lots of horrible things like that. I'm not sure what happens in the end. ed and lorrain warren get involved and experience some of the incidents. anyways heres whats bugging me: first- i brought the book home, threw it onto the middle of my queen size bed, then went into my ensuit bathroom to wash my face, came out, but some stuff on my dresser and when i turned around the book moved and slammed to the floor, it didn't just drop, it slammed. This same thing happened to a friend of mine that read the same book. playing with a ouija board invites spirits into your home/area, what about this book? can that happen? should i get rid of it? second - Ed and Lorrain Warren are reknown 'deamonologists' does that term bugg you as much as it bugs me? So far they havn't done anything (in the book) that contradicts the bible as far as i know. They travel all over the states helping people for free with spirit and deamon 'problems' they also give seminars, university lectures, and have been hired by the united states army Third - In the book they say that there is a difference between spirits and deamons. Spirits are people that are dead and won't accept it so they stay here untill they are ready to go. that doesn't really sit with me cuz i always thought that when you die you just wake up wherever your supposed to be. what do you guys think about this whole thing?
If odd things are starting to take place, I would say get rid of it. Being a Christian makes satan even angrier. He will try to come at you with anything and everything in his arsonal. Since he is the father of lies, he will manipulate you in any form he can. I use to love reading about ghosts, but what I have noticed is that most of the time, there seems to be, "mutiple spirits and a demon." I don't doubt that he would use what seems like the presence of a, "kind spirit", to lure you. Often, when you hear a family describe their house being haunted, it's usually playful. Later, more often than not, the presence seems to turn menacing and vengeful. Since the devil masquereds as an angel of light, it would be easy for him to appear as some kind of casper at first. As far as the oujia board, granted it is just a board, however, it can be very powerful depending on how you use it. You might think you are talking to your grandmother who passed, but think about it. The word of God tells us that when we die either we go up, or we go down. Knowing that, who are you really talking to?
