The dead kennedys are fucking sweet! Best damn punk music I've ever heard. It seems as if the American punk scene was a lot cooler and not full of shit like the U.K punks. What are your thoughts?!

Big fan of theirs since junior high, I was just lucky enough to see Jello Biafra (their lead singer) perform at the international spoken word festival here in Sevilla, Spain. Goood times. Its really a travesty the way the rest of the band has been treating him, but the real fans know Jello is the one keepin it real.

The UK made punk fashionable over there, but here it was still taboo. I think that's a good reason why our music stayed true for how long it did.

Yay, for an SLC Punk-esque topic

The Dead Kennedys are great, though they're a band best listened to when you're younger.

As for the UK/US thing...IMO, both the US and the UK had their share of great punk band and shit punk bands. I guess the UK bands didn't really get as hard as the US bands, but who says that a bad thing? There is plenty of shitty hardcore punk out there...

Dk is just one example of how us punk pushed the limit. Just look at the uk bands. The clash and Sexpistold were rude ,but most of the time it was rudeness with no point unlike the honest truth of theus punk. That's still true.

Dk is definetely one of the great American punk bands.
And I must agree that I favor US punk over Uk punk, though the UK did have some great bands like The Buzzcocks and X-Ray Spex.

dead kennedys kick ass. i especially like how almost all their songs are really sarcastic... their probably one of my favorite punk bands, with true punk spirit. i got fresh fruit for roting vegatables recently, and its probably one of my most listened to cds now...
