Terrance Boos, chief of DEA’s Drug and Chemical Evaluation Section, said that officials have received “multiple petitions” on the issue and are “in the process of modifying our [regulations]” on cannabis constituents based on recommendations from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

They plan to release the new Schedule for Cannabis this coming November.

They want to clarify the questions regarding Delta-8 THC and CBDs.

Boos stated in his speach that they would “decontrol CBD up to 0.1 percent THC on a weight-to-weight or weight-to-volume basis.”

He went on to note that "many products are being produced synthetically, through a chemical process that converts CBD into delta-8 THC. That is not allowed."

On news reports from Marijuana Moment News they say that "earlier this year, DEA also clarified to an attorney that two cannabinoids that have emerged in state markets—delta-8 THC-O and delta-9 THC-O—do not meet the federal definition of legal hemp and are therefore considered illegal controlled substances.

Wow, what a scam of a legislation, really. It's a bit sad, but that's just the way things are sometimes.

Thanks for sharing this insightful update. It's interesting to see the DEA's plans to modify regulations on cannabis constituents. The upcoming release of the new Schedule for Cannabis in November seems like a significant step. Clarifying the questions around Delta-8 THC and CBDs is definitely important. The mention of controlling CBD up to 0.1 percent THC and the distinction between naturally derived and synthetically produced products is noteworthy. For those looking to understand more about cannabis and its various aspects, exploring cannabis 101 can provide valuable insights.
